BNI Coal, Ltd. has established a scholarship program to assist dependent children of BNI Coal, Ltd. employees who plan to continue their education in college, vocational or technical school programs. Scholarships are offered for full-time study at an accredited institution of the student’s choice for the upcoming school year.
The program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarship, and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor, and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team. Awards for this scholarship are granted to eligible recipients without regard to creed, religion, sexual orientation, disability, or national origin.
Applicants must meet all of the following criteria:
*Child is defined as biological, step or legally adopted children living in the employee’s household or primarily supported by the employee.
Award Amounts
If selected as a recipient, the student will receive an award of $1,000. Up to four (4) awards will be granted.
Awards are not renewable, however, students may reapply each year they meet eligibility requirements.
Awards are for undergraduate study only.

Applicants will be notified in February.
Payment of Scholarships
Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of the BNI Coal Ltd. Payments are made in one installment in early August.
