Bosch FIRST Scholarship Program
Application status: Closed

Robert Bosch LLC has established a scholarship program to assist high school students who plan to continue their education in college. Renewable scholarships are offered each year for full-time study at an accredited four-year college or university of the student’s choice.

This scholarship program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarship, tuition assistance and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations and individuals. Awards are granted without regard to race, color, creed, religion, sexual orientation, gender, disability or national origin.

Applicants to the Bosch FIRST Scholarship Program must:

  • Be high school seniors.
  • Be members of a Bosch-sponsored FIRST Robotic Team or FIRST Tech Challenge team.
  • Plan to enroll in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited four-year college or university for the entire 2020-2021 academic year.
  • Have a minimum grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale (or its equivalent).
  • Have participated in the FRC or FTC Program for at least two seasons (including current season).
  • Plan to major in Bosch-relevant disciplines.
  • Have authorization to work in the United States on a full-time basis for other than training purposes (student/temporary visas do not qualify).

Award information:

If selected as a recipient, the student will receive a $5,000 award. Up to two (2) awards will be granted each year. Awards may be renewed for up to three additional years or until a bachelor’s degree is earned, whichever occurs first. Renewal is contingent upon maintaining a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale in a full-time course of study, continued enrollment in one of the Bosch-relevant fields of study and continuation of the program by Robert Bosch LLC.

Awards will be issued in U.S. currency.

Awards are for undergraduate study only.

Applications are evaluated on the information supplied; therefore, answer all questions as completely as possible. Incomplete applications will not be evaluated.

Selection of Recipients

Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of academic record, demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities, work experience, a statement of career and educational goals and objectives, a statement of their impact on the FIRST program and any unusual personal or family circumstances. A statement from the team leader regarding the applicant’s impact on the FIRST program will also be considered. Financial need is not considered.

Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America. After the selection of finalists, no officer or employee of Robert Bosch LLC plays a part in the selection. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.

Applicants will be notified in late-April. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients.

Payment of Scholarships

Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of Robert Bosch LLC. The payment is made in early-August.
