Boston Properties Scholarship Program
Deadline to apply: March 13, 2020 7:00 pm CT

The Boston Properties Scholarship Program was established in 2000 in recognition of our 30th anniversary. It is funded by Boston Properties to invest in the future of our society and to give back to those that have given so much to Boston Properties.

The program is administered by Scholarship America, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarship, tuition assistance and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations and individuals. Awards are granted without regard to race, color, creed, religion, sexual orientation, age, gender, disability or national origin.

Applicants to the Boston Properties Scholarship Program must be:

  • Dependent children of active, regular, full-time employees of Boston Properties or children of part-time employees working at least 21 hours per week who have a minimum of six (6) months employment with the company as of the application deadline date, and
  • High school seniors who plan to enroll or students who are already enrolled in full-time undergraduate or graduate study at an accredited two- or four-year college, university, vocational-technical school or graduate school for the entire upcoming academic year.

Children of Boston Properties Officers are ineligible.

Awards

Scholarship awards range from $2,000 to $8,000. Potential recipients who demonstrate no financial need will be eligible to receive an honorarium of $1,000. Awards are not renewable. Students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements. Any one student may receive a maximum of four (4) scholarships.

Awards are for post-high school undergraduate study and graduate study.

Selection of Recipients

Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of academic record, demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities, honors, work experience, statement of goals and aspirations, unusual personal or family circumstances, and an outside appraisal. Once recipients are selected, financial need is assessed to determine the amount of each award. Recipients who do not demonstrate financial need or whose parents choose not to supply the requested financial information will be eligible to receive a $1,000 honorarium. Instructions for completing the Financial Data section of the application are provided.

Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America. In no instance does any officer or employee of Boston Properties play a part in the selection. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.

Notification

Applicants will be notified by email in early May. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients. Students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements.
