Boulder Scientific Company Corporate Scholarship Program
Application status: Closed

Boulder Scientific Company has established a scholarship program to assist employees’ children who plan to continue their education in college or vocational school programs. Scholarships are offered each year for full-time study at an accredited institution of the student’s choice.

The program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarships and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor, and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team.

Applicants to the Boulder Scientific Company Corporate Scholarship Program must:

  • Be dependent* children, under age 24, of full-time Boulder Scientific Company employees who have a minimum of one year of employment with the company as of the application deadline date.
*Dependent children are defined as biological children, stepchildren or legally adopted children living in the employee’s household or primarily supported by the employee.
  • Be high school seniors or graduates who plan to enroll or students who are already enrolled in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited two-year or four-year college, university, or vocational-technical school in the United States for the entire upcoming academic year.
  • Have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale or its equivalent.
  • Members of the Birmingham and Preziotti family are not eligible for this program.

Selection of Recipients

Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of:

  • Academic record
  • Demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities
  • Work experience
  • Statement of educational and career goals and objectives
  • Unusual personal or family circumstances
  • An online recommendation.

Financial need is not considered.

Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America. In no instance does any officer or employee of Boulder Scientific Company play a part in the selection. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.

Applicants will be notified in April. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients. Students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements. However, applicants may be a recipient of an award a maximum of four (4) times.

Payment of Scholarships

Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of Boulder Scientific Company. Payments are made in equal installments in early August and mid-December. Checks are mailed to each recipient’s home address and are made payable to the school for the student. The employee parent must be employed at Boulder Scientific Company at the time awards are paid in August and December.

If selected as a recipient, the student will receive a $2,000 award if attending a two-year institution or an $4,000 award if attending a four-year institution. Up to twelve (12) awards will be granted each year.

A percentage* of the awards will be reserved for dependents of employees making less than $80,000 per year.

Awards are not renewable, but students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements. However, applicants may be a recipient of an award a maximum of four (4) times.

Only one child per household per year may be a recipient. If more than one applicant from a household is selected for the program the most qualified (highest ranking) will receive the award.

Awards are for undergraduate study only.
