Application status: Closed

Daughters of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Bradley, III, Dr. Yunique (Class of 1996), Dr. Chastity (Class of 1996), and Dr. Artara Bradley (Class of 2003) are natives of Aiken County and graduated from either Silver Bluff or South Aiken High School. These three sisters went on to successfully pursue careers in science and medicine after completing college and graduate-level programs. Dr. Yunique and Dr. Artara both achieved their Doctor of Pharmacy degrees from Hampton University while Dr. Chastity received her Doctor of Philosophy from Vanderbilt University. Today, Dr. Yunique and Dr. Artara are both pharmacists, with Dr. Yunique practicing in VA and Dr. Artara practicing in TX. Dr. Chastity is a medical writer entrepreneur in TN.

Together, these three sisters have each excelled in their professional fields and are eager to give back to other students who are interested in following in their footsteps in the healthcare field. Scholarships are offered each year for a full-time STEM course of study at an accredited, nonprofit four-year college or university of the student’s choice. Students meeting the criteria described in the program guidelines are encouraged to apply to this academic-based scholarship.

To learn more about these three sisters and their journey in science and medicine, please check out their individual biographies.

Why Apply?

High Demand: Only 5% of the US workforce works in areas of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) yet they are responsible for more than 50% of our sustained economic expansion.1 By 2022, the government plans to increase the number of STEM graduates by 1 million.

Gain Three Personal Mentors: Research shows that underrepresented minorities, first generation, and low-income students are more likely to switch from a STEM major while in college.2 This is a very intense career track that requires dedication, focus, and strong study skills. It is extremely important that you have a solid support system throughout your career. The Bradley Doctors will offer you support and lead by example. Having gone through a similar path that you are about to take, they encourage you to use their experiences as a blueprint as you determine your best fit in the health care field. The Bradley Doctors are here to help you succeed and navigate through this process by offering unlimited, valuable advice. As a recipient of the scholarship, you will be able to tap into their resources and receive unlimited career advice from the Bradley Doctors.

Reduce Your Overall College Costs: In its 2019 report, the College Board reports that a moderate budget for a four-year in-state public college averaged $26,590 for 2019-2020 academic year. A moderate budget at a private college averaged $53,980.3┬á Scholarship funds awarded to qualified applicants will be mailed to the recipient’s home address and are made payable to the school for the student. What better way to start off your college career than with a scholarship sponsored by Footsteps of Three Bradley Doctors?
