Casey's Scholarship Program
Application status: Closed

Casey’s Retail Company. and its subsidiaries and affiliated companies (collectively the “Company”) has established a scholarship program to help finance higher education for team members and for the children of its team members. The scholarships provide an opportunity for up to thirty (30) eligible team members to be awarded $1,000 and for up to thirty (30) dependent children of eligible team members to be awarded $1,000 of Company-sponsored scholarships annually.

This scholarship program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarships and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor, and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team.

Applicants must meet all of the following criteria depending on which scholarship they are applying for:

Dependent Scholarships:An applicant for a dependent scholarship must meet all of the following criteria to be eligible:

  1. Be dependent* children, ages 17 to 24, of part-time or full‑time team members of Casey’s Retail Company or one of its subsidiaries companies (collectively “the Company”) who have a minimum of one (1) year of consecutive employment as of the application deadline date. For purposes of this scholarship program, part-time team members must work an average of 20 hours per week. In the event of a break in service of more than 90 days, time accrual for the scholarship program will begin on the date in which the team member is rehired with the Company. Dependents of Company Officers are not eligible to receive scholarship awards.

* A “dependent child” is defined as a child by birth, adoption, legal guardianship, or is a stepchild, and is not married.

  1. Plans to enroll in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited two-year or four-year college, university or vocational-technical school for the entire upcoming academic year. A minimum of 12 credit hours per semester is deemed full-time, unless otherwise defined by the educational institution.

Team Member Scholarships: An applicant for a team member scholarship must meet all of the following criteria to be eligible:

  1. A full-time or part-time team member is eligible after working a minimum of one (1) year of consecutive employment with the Company as of the application deadline date. During said year, a part-time team member must work an average of 20 hours per week to be eligible. In the event of a break in service of more than 90 days, time accrual for the scholarship program will begin on the date in which the team member is rehired with the Company. Company officers are not eligible to receive scholarship awards.
  1. An eligible team member plans to enroll in an accredited two-year or four-year college, university or vocational-technical school, or graduate school for the entire upcoming academic year. Casey’s team members may be enrolled in either part-time or full-time study.

If selected as a recipient, the student will receive:

  • An award in the amount of $1,000.
  • Up to thirty (30) awards will be granted to dependent children and an additional thirty (30) awards will be granted to eligible team members.
  • Awards are not renewable, however, students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements.
  • Dependent awards are for undergraduate study only.
  • A dependent child cannot receive an award in two consecutive years.
  • Team Member awards are for undergraduate OR graduate study.

Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of:

  • Academic record
  • Demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities
  • Work experience
  • Statement of educational and career goals and objectives
  • Unusual personal or family circumstances
  • An online recommendation

Financial need is not considered.

Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America. Other than confirmation of eligibility, no officer or team member of the Company plays a part in the selection of the scholarship recipients. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.

Notification
Applicants will be notified in late April. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients.

Payment of Scholarships
Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of Casey’s Retail Company. Awards will be paid in one installment in early August. Any unused portion of a student’s scholarship will be reimbursed by the school to Scholarship America.

Obligations

Scholarship recipients must enroll in the educational programs no later than the fall of the year in which their awards are given. In order to remain eligible for scholarship payments, recipients must maintain a consecutive fall and spring semester and if the recipient is a dependent of a Casey’s team member, must remain at full-time status (completing a minimum of 12 credits per semester). A scholarship is automatically forfeited if the dependent student falls below full-time status or drops a semester. A team member’s scholarship is automatically forfeited if the team member drops a semester. Team members may be enrolled part-time (completing a minimum of 6 credits per semester). Recipients have no obligations to Casey’s. They are, however, required to provide Scholarship America with current transcripts and to notify Scholarship America of any change of address, school enrollment, or other pertinent information.

As part of your application, you must upload the following documents:

  • A current, complete transcript of grades. Grade reports are not accepted. Unofficial or online transcripts must display student name, school name, grades and credit hours for each course and term in which each course was taken

    NOTE: If you are providing SAT or ACT test scores, and those scores are not listed on your high school transcript, you will need to upload an official copy of those test scores separately. If you are uploading a college transcript, those scores are not required.

One online recommendation form must be submitted on your behalf no later than March 7, 2024 3:00 pm Central Time.
