CASMI Scholarship Program
Application status: Closed

The Chicago Association of Spring Manufacturers is proud to sponsor a scholarship program to benefit dependents of the employee of member companies.

The association, known as “CASMI,” was founded in 1944 to promote the interests of the Spring Manufacturing Industry in the greater Chicago area. It has engaged in many activities including sponsorship of the biennial SPRING WORLD Trade Show. The success of that event makes it possible to fund many significant programs, including this scholarship program. As a result, CASMI is grateful to the many industry suppliers and spring manufacturers from all over the world who make it possible to provide this support that helps recipients to obtain the education that is so necessary to personal success.

The program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarship, tuition assistance, and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor, and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team. Awards for this scholarship are granted to eligible recipients without regard to creed, religion, sexual orientation, age, disability, or national origin.

All eligible students are encouraged to apply for these awards.

Applicants to the CASMI Scholarship Program must be:

  • Full-time employees or their dependents of either Primary Members or Associate Members of CASMI with a minimum of one year of employment at the time of the application deadline date.
  • Students who plan to enroll or who are already enrolled in full-time study at an accredited two-year or four-year college, university, graduate school or vocational-technical school for the entire upcoming academic year.

Fifteen (15) awards of $1,500 each will be awarded to undergraduate students. Up to four (4) of the undergraduate awards are designated for Associate Members employees or their dependents.

One (1) award of $2,500, the Terry & Jerry Reese Postgraduate Scholarship, sponsored by Rosemont Exposition Services, will be awarded to a student enrolled in an advanced degree or a professional degree program. The named award will go to either a Primary Member employee or their dependent. (A student may not apply for undergraduate and graduate study in the same year.)

Three (3) of the undergraduate scholarships will be funded by the Joseph H. Goldberg Family Foundation and International Spring Co.

One (1) undergraduate scholarship will be funded by The Louis & Barbara Kahn Charitable Foundation.

The number of awards to be given each year may vary. Awards are not renewable, but students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements.
