CASMI Scholarship Program
Application status: Closed

The Chicago Association of Spring Manufacturers is proud to sponsor a scholarship program to benefit dependents of the employee of member companies.

The association, known as “CASMI,” was founded in 1944 to promote the interests of the Spring Manufacturing Industry in the greater Chicago area. It has engaged in many activities including sponsorship of the biennial SPRINGWORLD Trade Show. The success of that event makes it possible to fund many significant programs, including this scholarship program. As a result, CASMI is grateful to the many industry suppliers and spring manufacturers from all over the world who make it possible to provide this support that helps recipients to obtain the education that is so necessary to personal success.

The program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarships and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team.

All eligible students are encouraged to apply for these awards.

Applicants to the CASMI Scholarship Program must be:

  • Full-time employees or their dependents of either Primary Members or Associate Members of CASMI with a minimum of one year of employment at the time of the application deadline date.
  • Students who plan to enroll or who are already enrolled in full-time study at an accredited two-year or four-year college, university, graduate school or vocational-technical school for the entire upcoming academic year.

Authorized new annual distribution of the Undergraduate Recipients is $22,500. Fifteen (15) awards of $1,500 each will be awarded.

Authorized new annual distribution for the Graduate Recipient is $2,500. One (1) award of $2,500, the Terry & Jerry Reese Postgraduate Scholarship, will be awarded to a student enrolled in an advanced degree or a professional degree program. The named award will go to a Primary Member employee or their dependents.

A student may not apply for undergraduate and graduate study in the same year.

The total distribution for both undergraduate and graduate recipients is $25,000.

Awards are not renewable; however, students may reapply to the Program each year they meet eligibility requirements.
