Castle Harlan - Bradken College Scholarship Program

Bradken, Inc. has established a scholarship program to assist employees’ children who plan to continue their education. Scholarships are offered each year for full-time study at an accredited institution of the student’s choice.

The program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarships and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team.

Applicants to the Castle Harlan – Bradken College Scholarship Program must be:

  • Dependent* children, age 24 and under of full-time Bradken Inc. employees in the United States and employees of Bradken London located in London, Ontario, Canada who have a minimum of one year of employment with the company as of the application deadline.
    *Dependent children are defined as natural and legally adopted children or stepchildren living in the employee’s household or primarily supported by the employee.
  • (U.S. applicants) High school seniors or graduates who plan to enroll, or students who are already enrolled in a full-time undergraduate course of study at an accredited two-or four-year college or university for the entire upcoming academic year.
    OR
  • (Canadian applicants) Students in the final year of secondary school or secondary school graduates who plan to enroll or students who are already enrolled in full-time university-level studies for the entire upcoming academic year.

Vocational/technical studies are not eligible.

Awards

If selected as a recipient, the student will receive a $4,000 award. Up to nine (9) awards will be granted each year.

Awards are not renewable, but students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements.

Awards are for undergraduate study only.

Notification

All applicants will be notified in July.

Payment of Scholarships

Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of Bradken, Inc. Payment is made in early August and will be issued in U.S. currency.

Selection of Recipients

Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of:

  • Academic record
  • Demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities
  • Work experience
  • A statement of educational and career goals and objectives
  • Unusual personal or family circumstances
  • An online recommendation

Financial need is not considered.

Recipients may be selected to fairly represent qualified applications from a cross section of our geographical employee population.

Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America. In no instance does any officer or employee of Bradken, Inc. play a part in the selection. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.

As part of your application, you must upload the following:

  • A current, complete transcript of grades. Grade reports are not accepted. Transcripts must display student name, school name, grades and credit hours for each course and term in which each course was taken.

NOTE: If you are providing SAT or ACT test scores, and those scores are not listed on your high school transcript, you will need to upload a copy of your test score report(s) separately. If you are uploading a college transcript, those scores are not required.

One online recommendation form must be submitted on your behalf no later than May 28, 2024 3:00 pm Central Time.
