CDM Smith Scholarship Program

CDM Smith has established a scholarship program to assist students pursuing an eligible STEM undergraduate programs focusing on engineering or IT at an eligible university.

The program is administered by Scholarship America, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarship, tuition assistance and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations and individuals. Awards are granted without regard to race, color, creed, religion, sexual orientation, gender, disability or national origin.

Applicants to the CDM Smith Scholarship Program must:

  • Be high school graduates who plan to enroll or students who are already enrolled in an eligible STEM undergraduate program focusing on engineering or IT. Eligible majors include:

    Automation Engineering Geography (GIS)
    Architecture Geology
    Chemical Engineer Hydraulic Engineer
    Civil Engineering (Water, Geotechnical, Structural, Transpiration focus) Hydrology
    Construction Engineering Mechanical Engineer
    Construction Management Planning
    Electrical Engineer Urban/Regional Planning
    Environmental Engineer Water Resources Engineer
    Environmental Science
  • Plan to enroll in full-time undergraduate study STEM program at an accredited four-year college, university (Engineering Program must be ABET Accredited) for the entire 2020-2021 academic year.
  • Have a minimum grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale (or its equivalent).

Award Information
If selected as a recipient, the student will receive a $5,000 award. Up to four (4) awards will be granted.

Awards are not renewable, but students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements.

Awards are for undergraduate study only.

Notification
Applicants will be notified in late June. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients. Students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements.

Payment of Scholarships
Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of CDM Smith. Payment is made in one installment in August.

Selection of Recipients
Selection of finalists is made by Scholarship America. CDM Smith will select the recipients. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.

Scholarship finalists are selected on the basis of academic record, demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities, honors, work experience, and an online recommendation. An essay is required, and will be reviewed and evaluated by CDM Smith during the recipient selection.

Financial need will not be considered.

Revisions
CDM Smith reserves the right to review the conditions and procedures of this scholarship program and to make changes at any time including termination of the program.

As part of your application, you must upload the following documents:

  1. A current, complete transcript of grades. Grade reports are not accepted. Unofficial or online transcripts must display student name, school name, grades and credit hours for each course and term in which each course was taken.
  2. A Resume

Also as part of your application, one online recommendation form must be submitted on your behalf by 3:00 p.m. Central Time on May 20, 2020.
