Celina Insurance Group has established a scholarship program to assist high school seniors who are children or grandchildren of employees OR high school seniors who reside or will graduate from high school in Mercer or Auglaize County, Ohio and plan to continue their education in college.
This program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarship, tuition assistance and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Awards are granted without regard to race, color, creed, religion, sexual orientation, gender, disability, or national origin.
Applicants to the Celina Insurance Group and Employees Scholarship Program must meet all the following criteria:

Applicants will be required to answer the following essay topic:
“Most insurance companies factor in a credit-based insurance score to determine premiums. Credit-based insurance scores use the risk of loss to help determine potential insurance premiums. Indicate and describe actions that you as a potential insurance policy holder can take to help build your credit score and lessen your insurance premium.”
Financial need is not considered.
Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America and Celina Insurance Group. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.
If selected as a recipient, the student will receive a $1,000 award. Up to 3 awards will be granted. Each award is renewable one-time. Renewal students must provide a copy of their college transcript at time of renewal. Renewal awards are $500 per student on the basis of satisfactory academic performance maintaining a cumulative grade point average of 3.0-or higher on a 4.0 scale and entering their second year of college at a sophomore level or higher. In renewal years the award will be called the Don Montgomery Memorial Renewal Scholarship.
Awards are for undergraduate study only.
All applicants will be notified in mid-May.
Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of Celina Insurance Group. Payment is made in August.
