Centria Charitable Foundation Diversity and Inclusion Scholarship

Centria Charitable Foundation has established a scholarship program to assist employees and children of employees who plan to continue their education in college or vocational school programs.

This program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarship, tuition assistance and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Awards are granted without regard to creed, religion, sexual orientation, gender, disability, or national origin.

Applicants to the Centria Charitable Foundation Diversity and Inclusion Scholarship must:

  • Identify as a racial or ethnic minority*
  • * Minorities will be defined according to the Census Bureau guidelines and include the following groups: American Indian or Alaska Native, Asian, Black or African American, Hispanic or Latino, Native Hawaiian or Other Pacific Islander.

  • Be Centria full-time or part-time employees or dependent children*, age 26 and under, of full-time or part-time Centria employees.
    **Dependent children are defined as natural and legally adopted children or stepchildren living in the employee’s household or primarily supported by the employee.
  • Be high school seniors or graduates or current college undergraduates or graduate level students.
  • Plan to enroll in full-time or part-time undergraduate or graduate study at an accredited two- or four-year college, university or vocational-technical school for the upcoming spring term.

Awards

If selected as a recipient, the student will receive a $2,000 award. Up to 10 awards will be granted. Awards are not renewable, but students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements.

Awards are for undergraduate and graduate study.

Selection of Recipients

Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of academic record, demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities, a statement of goals and aspirations, and unusual personal or family circumstances.

Financial need will not be considered.

 
Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America. In no instance does any officer or employee of Centria Charitable Foundation play a part in the selection. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients. Students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.

Notification

All applicants will be notified in December.

Payment of Scholarships

Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of Centria Charitable Foundation. Payment is made in January.

As part of your application, you must upload the following:

  • A current, complete transcript of grades. Grade reports are not accepted. Transcripts must display student name, school name, grades and credit hours for each course and term in which each course was taken.
