Chubb has established a scholarship program to assist children of employees who plan to continue their education in college or vocational school programs.
This program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarship, tuition assistance and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Awards are granted without regard to race, color, creed, religion, sexual orientation, gender, disability, or national origin.
Applicants to the Chubb Worldwide Scholarship Program must be:
If selected as a recipient, the student will receive an award ranging from $2,500 to $6,000.
The award is not to collectively exceed the cost of tuition, fees, books, and supplies. Room and board is not included.
Awards may be renewed for up to three additional years or until an undergraduate degree is earned, whichever occurs first. Renewal is contingent upon maintaining a minimum grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, continued full-time enrollment subject to the conditions described in the next paragraph and continuation of the program by Chubb.
At any renewal date, the recipient’s award renewal will not be declined on the basis of the parent’s employment status with Chubb, unless Chubb determines in its sole discretion that such employment has ended due to employee’s voluntary resignation or involuntary termination for misconduct in violation of the Chubb Code of Conduct or other Chubb policy. In order for the recipient to qualify for renewal installments of the award, the recipient must meet all other eligibility requirements.
Awards are for undergraduate study only and are issued in U.S. currency.
All applicants will be notified in late March. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients.
Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of Chubb. Payment is made in early August.
Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of academic performance and future potential, demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities, work experience, statement of careers and educational goals and objectives and unusual personal or family circumstances.
Financial need must be demonstrated and will be used to determine the amount of each award.
Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America. In no instance does any officer or employee of Chubb play a part in the selection. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.
