Chubb Worldwide Scholarship Program
Deadline to apply: February 3, 2020 3:00 pm CT

Chubb has established a scholarship program to assist children of employees who plan to continue their education in college or vocational school programs.

This program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarship, tuition assistance and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Awards are granted without regard to race, color, creed, religion, sexual orientation, gender, disability, or national origin.

Applicants to the Chubb Worldwide Scholarship Program must be:

  • Dependent children, age 25 and under, of full-time Chubb employees with two years of continuous service by the application deadline date of the year in which the student’s application is made.
  • U.S. students must be high school seniors or graduates, or current postsecondary undergraduates, who plan to enroll in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited two-year or four-year college, university, or vocational-technical school for the entire upcoming academic year.
  • International and Canadian students must be final year secondary school students or graduates, or current university students, who plan to enroll in full-time university level studies for the entire upcoming academic year.

Must demonstrate financial need.

*Dependent children are defined as natural and legally adopted children, stepchildren, or legal wards, living in the employee’s household or primarily supported by the employee.

If selected as a recipient, the student will receive an award ranging from $2,500 to $6,000.

The award is not to exceed tuition, fees, books, and supplies.

Room and board is not included.

Awards may be renewed for up to three additional years or until an undergraduate degree is earned, whichever occurs first. Renewal is contingent upon maintaining a minimum grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, continued full-time enrollment of the student, and continuation of the program by Chubb.

Awards are for undergraduate study only and are issued in U.S. currency.

Notification

All applicants will be notified in late March. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients.

Payment of Scholarships

Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of Chubb. Payments are made in equal installments in early August and mid-December.

  • Consideration of academic performance and future potential
  • Demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities
  • Work experience
  • Statement of careers and educational goals and objectives
  • Unusual personal or family circumstances
  • Outside appraisal

Financial need will be considered.

Financial need must be demonstrated and will be used to determine the amount of each award ranging from $2,500 to $6,000.

Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America. In no instance does any officer or employee of Chubb play a part in the selection. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.
