Citizens Bank N.A. (“Citizens”) has established the Citizens Scholars program to assist colleagues’ dependent children (26 years of age and under) currently enrolled, or high school seniors planning to enroll, in a full-time undergraduate course of study at an accredited two or four-year college, university or vocational / technical school. This program has annually awarded up to 12 renewable $3,000 scholarships. We are pleased to continue this valued program this year.
Applicants may receive information regarding Citizens’ college internship and early career programs if opted in on the application.
The program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarships and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team.
Applicants to the Citizens Scholars Program must be:
Taking pass/fail courses and obtaining a pass for applicable courses will not impact a student’s eligibility as long as the student has met all other eligibility requirements.
If selected as a recipient, then the student will receive an award of $3,000. Up to 12 awards will be granted each year.
Awards may be renewed for up to three additional years or until a bachelor’s degree is earned, whichever occurs first. Renewal is contingent upon maintaining a 3.0 cumulative GPA on a 4.0 scale in a full-time undergraduate course of study, the student’s parent continuing to be in good standing with a satisfactory performance review (rating of 3- or above) and continuation of the program by Citizens.
Applicants not awarded a scholarship may apply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements.
Awards are for undergraduate study only.
All applicants will be notified by email in July whether or not they are a recipient. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients.
Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of Citizens. Payments are made in one installment in August.
Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of:
