The Clorox Company Foundation Scholarship Program
Application status: Closed

The Clorox Company Foundation Scholarship Program has been established to assist the children of The Clorox Company employees worldwide who plan to pursue postsecondary education in college programs. Renewable scholarships are offered each year for full-time study at an accredited postsecondary institution of the student’s choice in any country.

The program is administered by Scholarship America, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarship, tuition assistance and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations and individuals. Awards are granted without regard to race, color, creed, religion, sexual orientation, gender, disability or national origin.

Eligibility
Applicants to The Clorox Company Foundation Scholarship Program must be:

  • Dependent children* or legal wards, age 26 and under, of full-time active or inactive employees who have a minimum of one year employment with the company as of the application deadline.
*For definition of children, please see the Clorox Benefits Handbook.
  • High school seniors or graduates who plan to enroll or students who are already enrolled in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited two- or four-year college or university for the entire upcoming academic year.

Children of corporate officers are ineligible to participate in the scholarship program.

Award
Up to ten $2,500 scholarships will be awarded each year and will be paid in U.S. currency. Awards may be renewed for up to three additional years or until a bachelor’s degree is earned, whichever occurs first. Renewal is contingent upon satisfactory academic performance in a full-time course of study and continuation of the program by The Clorox Company Foundation.

One goal of the program is to promote diversity among scholarship recipients.

Awards are for undergraduate study only.

Awards may be used for tuition, room and board.

Students may receive funding through only one of the following programs during any given academic year: The Clorox Company Foundation Scholarship Program for Children of Clorox Employees or the Knauss Scholars Program.

Selection of Recipients
Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of academic record, demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities, honors, work experience, a statement of career and educational goals and aspirations, unusual personal or family circumstances, and an outside appraisal.

Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America. In no instance does any officer or employee of The Clorox Company Foundation play a part in the selection. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.

Notification
Applicants will be notified by the end of April. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients.

Payment of Scholarships
Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of The Clorox Company Foundation. U.S. recipients’ awards are paid in two installments in August and December. Non-U.S. recipients’ awards are paid in one installment in August.
