Inspire Our Future Commercial Scholarship

Colgate-Palmolive Company has established a scholarship program to assist current undergraduate sophomores and juniors who are enrolled in a Sales or Marketing program for the upcoming academic year.

The program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarships and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor, and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team.

Applicants to the Inspire Our Future Commercial Scholarship must:

  • Be current college undergraduates (sophomore or junior)
  • Plan to enroll in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited four-year college, university for the entire upcoming academic year at an eligible college or university.
  • Be enrolled or plan to enroll or currently enrolled in one of the following programs the upcoming academic year
    • Communications
    • Finance
    • Marketing
    • Business Administration
  • Self-identify as Black or African American
  • Have minimum grade point average (GPA) of 2.8 on a 4.0 grading scale or equivalent

Employees, children or grandchildren of employees of Colgate-Palmolive Company are ineligible.

Awards

If selected as a recipient, the student will receive a $10,000 award. Up to five (5) awards will be granted.

Awards are renewable up to 2 years or until a bachelor’s degree is earned, whichever occurs first, on the basis of satisfactory academic performance maintaining a cumulative grade point average of 2.8 on a 4.0 scale, full-time enrollment and continued eligible area of study at an eligible college or university.

Assuming there are qualified applicants, preference will be given to applicants who are attending one of the listed colleges. See Colleges Tab.

Awards are for undergraduate study only.

Awards can be used for education-related expenses.

Recipients may be contacted by Sponsor for further opportunities.

Students can only receive one Sponsor award per academic year.

Notification

All applicants will be notified in May.

Payment of Scholarships

Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of Sponsor. Payment is made in early August.

Selection of Recipients

Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of:

  • Academic record
  • Demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities
  • Work experience
  • A statement of educational and career goals and objectives
  • Unusual personal or family circumstances
  • An online recommendation

Financial need, as calculated by Scholarship America, must be demonstrated for the student to receive an award.

Selection of finalists is made by Scholarship America. The Sponsor’s selection committee will interview finalists and select recipients.

As part of your application, you must upload the following:

  • A current, complete transcript of grades. Grade reports are not accepted. Transcripts must display student name, school name, grades and credit hours for each course and term in which each course was taken.
  • A copy of most recently filed 1040

One online recommendation form must be submitted on your behalf no later than May 10, 2023 3:00 pm Central Time.
