Clara Lionel Foundation has established a scholarship program to assist a final year student of Combermere School in Bridgetown, Barbados with their education in college or vocational-technical school program.
The program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarship, tuition assistance, and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor, and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team. Awards for this scholarship are granted to eligible recipients without regard to creed, religion, sexual orientation, age, disability, or national origin.
Applicants to the Combermere Scholarship Program must meet all of the following criteria:
No employee or consultant of the Clara Lionel Foundation (CLF) or Roc Nation, LLC, or any family member of such employee or consultant, is eligible to apply. No officer or director of CLF, member of the Selection Committee, employee, consultant or family member of any officer, director, or member of the Selection Committee, is eligible to apply.
*Applicants must have been born in Barbados. Documentation in the form of a birth certificate will be required for finalists.
**A college acceptance letter will be required as part of the application.
All applicants will be notified if they were selected by early August.
Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of Clara Lionel Foundation. Payments are made in two equal installments in September and December and are issued in U.S. currency.
The recipient is expected to maintain communication with representatives of the Clara Lionel Foundation throughout the term of the scholarship. They are also required to notify Scholarship America of any changes in address, school enrollment, or other relevant information, and to send a complete official transcript when requested.

Scholarship America will select 15 finalists for further consideration by Clara Lionel Foundation. All finalists will be contacted to supply their birth certificate to Scholarship America to verify nationality. Applicants must have been born in Barbados.
Clara Lionel Foundation will select the scholarship recipient. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.
One online recommendation form must be submitted on your behalf no later than June 4, 2021 3:00 pm Central Time.
