Cordell Reed Trailblazer Scholarship Program

Constellation (formerly Exelon Generation Company), LLC has established a scholarship program to assist students who plan to continue their education in college or vocational school programs.

The program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarship, tuition assistance, and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor, and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team.

 

Applicants to the Cordell Reed Trailblazer Scholarship Program must:

  • Be high school seniors or graduates, or current undergraduates residing in one of the following zip codes.
  • Plan to enroll in fulltime undergraduate study at an accredited two- or four-year college, university or vocational-technical school for the entire upcoming academic year.
  • Plan to pursue a degree in the field of Engineering, or any Technical or Energy-related field of study.
  • Self-identify as Black or African American, American Indian or Alaska Native, Hispanic or Latino, Asian, native Hawaiian or other Pacific Islander.

Students attending Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU’s) and Trade/Vocational Schools are encouraged to apply. 

Awards

If selected as a recipient, the student will receive a $5000 award. Up to 4 awards will be granted. Awards are not renewable, but students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements.

Awards are for undergraduate study only. Awards may be used for any educational-related expenses.

Recipients may be offered internship and/or career opportunities with Exelon Corporation.

Notification

All applicants will be notified in Late April.

Payment of Scholarships

Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of Constellation (formerly Exelon Generation Company), LLC. Payment is made in August.

Selection of Recipients

Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of academic performance, demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities, work experience, a statement of career and educational goals and objectives, unusual personal or family circumstances, and one essay.

Financial need, as calculated by Scholarship America, must be demonstrated for the student to receive an award.

Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America. In no instance does any officer or employee of Constellation (formerly Exelon Generation Company), LLC play a part in the selection. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients. Students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.


As part of your application, you must upload the following:

  • A current, complete transcript of grades. Grade reports are not accepted. Transcripts must display student name, school name, grades and credit hours for each course and term in which each course was taken.

NOTE: If you are providing SAT or ACT test scores, and those scores are not listed on your high school transcript, you will need to upload an official copy of those test scores separately. If you are uploading a college transcript, those scores are not required.

  • A copy of the first two pages of the most recently filed IRS Form 1040 used for the Financial Information Page. Block out the social security information on the tax documents
