CopperPoint Insurance Companies Community Scholarship

CopperPoint Insurance Company has established a scholarship program to assist current undergraduate sophomores and juniors, who currently reside in or attend school in Alaska, Arizona, California, Idaho, or Washington, and plan to continue their education in college.

The program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarships and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor, and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team.

Applicants to the CopperPoint Insurance Companies Community Scholarship must:

  • Be a current college undergraduate in sophomore or junior year who will be enrolled in the 2024-25 academic year as a junior or senior
  • Be planning to enroll in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited four-year college or university for the entire upcoming academic year
  • Be a resident of or be attending school in one of the following states:
    • Alaska
    • Arizona
    • California
    • Idaho
    • Washington

CopperPoint Insurance Company current or previous employees and their dependents are ineligible.

Awards

CopperPoint Community Awards
If selected as a recipient, the student will receive a $5,000 award. Up to ten (10) awards of $5,000 each will be granted.

Assuming there are qualified applicants, awards will be disbursed as follows:
Alaska (1), Arizona (2), California (3), Idaho (2), Washington (2)

Sherry Isenberg Memorial Award
The Sherry Isenberg Memorial Award is for a female applicant from Alaska in memory of Sherry Isenberg.

If selected as a recipient, the student will receive a $2,500 award. Up to one (1) award will be granted. Recipients must self-identify as female.

An applicant may not receive both awards in the same academic year.

Awards are not renewable, but students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements.

Recipients may be offered other opportunities with CopperPoint Insurance Company.

Awards are for undergraduate study only.

Notification

All applicants will be notified in May.

Payment of Scholarships

Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of CopperPoint Insurance Company. Payment is made in August.

Selection of Recipients

CopperPoint Community Awards
Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of academic performance, demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities, work experience, a statement of educational and career goals and objectives, extenuating, unique, or unusual circumstances, and an online recommendation.

Financial need, as calculated by Scholarship America, must be demonstrated to receive an award.

Consideration will be given to students experiencing extenuating, unique, or unusual circumstances.

Selection of finalists is made by Scholarship America. CopperPoint Insurance Company will select recipients. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.

Sherry Isenberg Memorial Award
Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of academic performance, demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities, work experience, a statement of career and educational goals and objectives, extenuating, unique or unusual circumstances, and an online recommendation.

Scholarship America will select the Sherry Isenberg Memorial recipient.

Financial need, as calculated by Scholarship America, must be demonstrated to receive an award.

Assuming there are qualified applicants, preference will be given to applicants studying business.

As part of your application, you must upload the following:

A current, complete transcript of grades. Grade reports are not accepted. Transcripts must display student name, school name, grades and credit hours for each course and term in which each course was taken.

One online recommendation form must be submitted on your behalf no later than February 22, 2024 3:00 pm Central Time.

Your application is not complete unless all required materials are submitted electronically.
