Coughlan Companies Employee Dependent Scholarship Program
Deadline to apply: May 17, 2021 3:00 pm CT

Coughlan Companies has established a scholarship program to assist children of employees who plan to continue their education in college or vocational school programs.

The program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarship, tuition assistance, and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor, and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team. Awards for this scholarship are granted to eligible recipients without regard to creed, religion, sexual orientation, age, disability, or national origin.

Applicants to the Coughlan Companies Employee Dependent Scholarship Program must:

  • Be dependent* children, age 24 and under, of full-time Coughlan Companies employees who have a minimum of one year of employment as of the application deadline.
*Dependent children are defined as natural and legally adopted children or stepchildren living in the employee’s household or primarily supported by the employee.
  • High school seniors/final year secondary school students or graduates who plan to enroll or students who are already enrolled in full-time undergraduate/university-level study at an accredited two-year or four-year college, university, or vocational-technical school for the entire upcoming academic year.

Students who have received the award previously are ineligible to apply.

Awards

If selected as a recipient, the student will receive a $3,000 award. Awards are one-time only. Past recipients may not reapply.

Awards are for undergraduate study only.

Notification

All applicants will be notified in late June.

Payment of Scholarships

Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of Coughlan Companies. Payment is made in early August.

Selection of Recipients

Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of academic record, demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities, work experience, a statement of goals and aspirations, unusual personal or family circumstances, and an online recommendation. Financial need is not considered.

Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America. In no instance does any officer or employee of Coughlan Companies play a part in the selection. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.

As part of your application, you must upload the following:

  • A current, complete transcript of grades. Grade reports are not accepted. Transcripts must display student name, school name, grades and credit hours for each course and term in which each course was taken.
  • Upper secondary school diploma or certificate, if earned (International applicants only).
  • Results of examinations (International applicants only).
  • English translations for any non-English documents.

One online recommendation form must be submitted on your behalf no later than May 20, 2021 3:00 pm CT.

Your application is not complete unless all required materials are submitted electronically.
