David Pruitt Award for Courage Scholarship Program

The Entrepreneur Advisory Group of CEOs has established a scholarship program to assist high school seniors who plan to continue their education in college or university for the entire upcoming academic year.

This program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarship, tuition assistance and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Awards are granted without regard to race, color, creed, religion, sexual orientation, age, gender, disability, or national origin.

Applicants to the David Pruitt Award for Courage must:

  • Be high school seniors
  • Plan to enroll in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited four-year college or university for the entire upcoming academic year
  • Have a minimum grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale (or its equivalent)
  • Have dealt with adversity courageously

Selection of Finalists

Scholarship finalists are selected on the basis of:

  • A short-form essay of 3,000 characters or less of a first-hand account of your experience exhibiting courage in the face of adversity
  • Academic record
  • Demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities
  • Work experience
  • Unusual personal or family circumstances
  • An online recommendation.

Financial need is not considered.

Scholarship America will select 20 finalists and Sponsor will select recipients based upon completed application and short-form essay. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.

Awards

If selected as a recipient, the student will receive a $2,500 award. Up to 2 awards will be granted.

Awards are for undergraduate study only.

Notification

All applicants will be notified in June.

Payment of Scholarships

Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of The Entrepreneur Advisory Group of CEOs. Payment is made in August.

As part of your application, you must upload the following:

  • A current, complete transcript of grades. Grade reports are not accepted. Transcripts must display student name, school name, grades and credit hours for each course and term in which each course was taken.

One online recommendation form must be submitted on your behalf no later than April 13, 2021 3:00 pm.

Your application is not complete unless all required materials are submitted electronically.
