Canadian Pacific Canadian Scholarship Program
Application status: Closed

Canadian Pacific Railway has established a scholarship program to assist children of employees who plan to continue their education in college, university, or vocational school programs.

This program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarship, tuition assistance and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals.  Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor, and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team.

Applicants to the: Canadian Pacific Canadian Scholarship Program must be:

  • Dependent children of eligible Canadian Pacific employees.
    • Eligible employees are any employee of Canadian Pacific, Soo Line Railroad, Delaware & Hudson Railroad, DM&E Railroad, or Central Maine & Quebec with an active status that are employed at the time the awards are issued (including employees on leaves of absence approved by CP). Children of employees deceased in active service or retired during the award year are also eligible for an award in that year.
  • Students who plan to enroll for the entire upcoming academic year no later than Fall 2021 in a full-time undergraduate or graduate/doctoral course of study at an accredited two- or four-year college, university, C.E.G.E.P., or vocational-technical school.

No deferrals will be granted.

Awards must be used in the award year that they are granted.

Awards

If selected as a recipient, the student will receive a $1,000 award.

Awards are for one year only. Awards are not renewable; however, students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements.

Awards are for undergraduate and graduate/doctoral study.

Selection of Recipients

Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of academic record, demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities, work experience, a statement of goals and aspirations, and a statement of unusual personal or family circumstances.

Financial need is not considered.

Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America. In no instance does any officer or employee of Canadian Pacific Railway play a part in the selection. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients. Students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.

Notification

All applicants will be notified in late-June.

Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of Canadian Pacific Railway. Payment is made in mid-August and will be issued in Canadian dollars.
