Credit Suisse Scholarship Program

Credit Suisse has established a scholarship program to assist employees’ children who plan to continue their education in college or vocational school programs. Scholarships are offered for full-time study at an accredited institution of the student’s choice.

This scholarship program is administered by Scholarship America, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarship, tuition assistance and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations and individuals. Awards are granted without regard to race, color, creed, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or national origin.

Applicants to the Credit Suisse Scholarship Program must:

  • Be dependent* children, age 24 and under, of full-time U.S. Credit Suisse employees at the level of Vice President, Assistant Vice President, Exempt Non-officer, or Non-Exempt who have a minimum of two (2) years employment with Credit Suisse as of the application deadline date.

    *Dependent children are defined as natural and legally adopted children or stepchildren living in the employee’s household or primarily supported by the employee.

  • Be high school seniors or graduates who plan to enroll or students who are already enrolled in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited two- or four-year college or university, or vocational-technical school for the entire upcoming academic year.
  • Have no more than 50% of school costs, (tuition, fees, books, supplies, and room and board), covered by other scholarships and grants.

Award Information:

  • Up to ten (10) awards of $2,000 each will be granted.
  • Awards are not renewable, but students may reapply provided Credit Suisse continues with the program and students continue to meet eligibility requirements.
  • Awards are for undergraduate study only.

Notification

Applicants will be notified in early June. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients.

Payment of Scholarships

Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of Credit Suisse. Payments are made in one installment in early August. Checks are mailed to each recipient’s home address and are made payable to the school for the student.

Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of:

  • Academic record
  • Demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities
  • Work experience
  • Statement of career and educational goals and objectives
  • Unusual personal or family circumstances
  • An online recommendation

Financial need as calculated by Scholarship America must be demonstrated for the student to receive an award.

Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America. In no instance does any officer or employee of Credit Suisse play a part in the selection. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.

As part of your application, you must upload the following document:

  • A current, complete transcript of grades. Grade reports are not accepted. Unofficial or online transcripts must display student name, school name, grades and credit hours for each course and term in which each course was taken.

Also as part of your application, one online recommendation form must be submitted on your behalf by 3:00 p.m.
Central Time on May 19, 2020.
