CSM Corporation Scholarship Program for Dependents

CSM Corporation has established a scholarship program to assist children of employees who plan to continue their education in college or vocational school programs. Scholarships are offered each year for full-time study at an accredited institution of the student’s choice.

This program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarships and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor, and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team.

Applicants to the CSM Corporation Scholarship Program for Dependents must be:

Dependent* children, age 25 and under, of full-time employees of CSM Corporation and Affiliates who have a minimum of 6 months of employment with the company as of the application deadline.
*Dependent children are defined as biological and legally adopted children or stepchildren living in the employee’s household or primarily supported by the employee.
High school seniors or graduates, or current postsecondary undergraduates, who plan to enroll in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited two-year or four-year college, university, or vocational-technical school for the entire upcoming academic year.
Have a minimum GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale (or its equivalent)

Award Information:

If selected as a recipient, the student will receive an award ranging from $1,000 to $2,500. Financial need will be considered in determining the amount of the award.
Awards of $2,500 will be given to recipients who demonstrate financial need. These awards may be renewable up to three years or until a bachelor’s degree is earned, whichever occurs first, on the basis of satisfactory academic progress (maintaining a cumulative grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale), continued parental employment and continued sponsorship by CSM.
Recipients who do not demonstrate financial need will be awarded $1,000. Thes awards are one-time only awards and are not eligible for renewal.
Consideration will be given to students attending a two-year or vocational/technical school.

Awards are for undergraduate study only. Substantial financial changes in income will be considered on a case-by-case basis, an must be reviewed by CSM Corporation.

Notification

Applicants will be notified in July. Students not selected as recipients may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements.

Payment of Scholarships

Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of CSM Corporation. Payment is made in one installment in mid-August. Continued parental employment is required at the time checks are awarded.

Selection of Recipients

Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of:

Academic record
Demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities
Work experience
Statement of educational and career goals and objectives
Unusual personal or family circumstances

Financial need will be considered in determining award amount.

Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America. In no instance does any officer or employee of CSM Corporation play a part in the selection. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.

As part of your application, you must upload the following document:

A current, complete transcript of grades. Grade reports are not accepted. Transcripts must display:

Student name
School name
Grades
Credit hours for each course and term in which each course was taken.

NOTE: If you are providing SAT or ACT test scores, and those scores are not listed on your high school transcript, you will need to upload a copy of your test score report(s) separately. If you are uploading a college transcript, those scores are not required.

Your application is not complete unless all required documents are submitted electronically through the Scholarship America Student Hub.
