Danaher Scholarship Program
Live application window: April 1, 2020 6:00 am through May 15, 2020 3:00 pm CT

The Danaher Scholarship Program seeks to relieve the financial burden of higher education costs for Danaher families, helping students to realize their life’s potential.

The program is administered by Scholarship America, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarship, tuition assistance and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations and individuals. Awards are determined without regard to race, color, national origin, religion, gender, age, marital status, disability, veteran status, citizenship status, sexual orientation, gender identity or other characteristics protected by law.

Applicants to the Danaher Scholarship Program must be:

  • Dependent* children of full-time Danaher Corporation associates who have a minimum of three (3) years continuous employment with Danaher or a Danaher-acquired company as of the application deadline date.
  • *Dependent children are defined as natural and legally adopted children or stepchildren living in the associate’s household or primarily supported by the associate.

  • High school seniors, final year upper secondary students or graduates who plan to enroll, or students who are already enrolled in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited three or four-year college or university for the entire upcoming academic year. (No junior colleges, community colleges or vocational-technical schools are allowed – even if these schools offer bachelor degrees.)
  • Maintaining a minimum grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale (or its equivalent).

Applicants may not be recipients of other scholarships funded by Danaher or one of their operating companies. If selected as a recipient for more than one scholarship, the applicant must choose one.

Award Information:

Awards given in 2020 will be renewable. Up to $95,000 in new awards will be distributed in the following manner:

  • Award Type 1: Up to ten (10) renewable awards of $3,000 each, regardless of financial need.
  • Award Type 2: Renewable awards ranging from $3,500 to $5,000. Must show financial need as determined by Scholarship America.

The awards are renewable up to three times or until a bachelor’s degree is earned, whichever occurs first, on the basis of satisfactory academic performance and full-time enrollment. The Danaher employee parent must also continue to be employed with Danaher Corporation.

Awards are for undergraduate study only.

Awards are not to exceed tuition, fees, books and supplies and other education expenses.

Notification

Applicants will be notified in July. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients.

Payment of Scholarships

Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of Danaher Corporation. Payments will be sent in late August. Recipients attending school in the U.S. and Canada will be mailed checks issued in U.S. currency payable to their schools. Recipients attending school outside of the U.S. and Canada will be sent their awards via wire transfer.

Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of:

  • Academic record
  • Demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities
  • Work experience
  • Statement of career and educational goals and objectives
  • Unusual personal or family circumstances
  • An online recommendation

Financial need as calculated by Scholarship America must be demonstrated for the student to receive Award Type 2. (Ten (10) awards will be given without regard to financial need.)

The academic evaluation for international applicants will include a review of the grade/mark-average based on the grading system used in the applicant’s country and university and results of academic examinations. This information is evaluated to complete the academic ranking of international applicants. Recipients will be selected in proportion to the number of eligible applications per country.

Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America. In no instance does any officer or associate of Danaher Corporation play a part in the selection. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.
