Delta Sonic Car Wash Scholarship Program

Delta Sonic’s scholarship programs offer our employees the opportunity to build a foundation for their future through strong work ethic and academic success. Scholarships are offered each year for part-time and full-time study at any accredited institution of the student’s choice.

The program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarships and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor, and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team.

Applicants of the Delta Sonic Car Wash Scholarship Program award must be:

  • Full-time or part-time active employees of Delta Sonic Car Wash who have a minimum of six (6) months of service with the company and a minimum of 100 service hours in the preceding year as of the application deadline date
  • Enrolled or planning to enroll in full- or part-time (minimum six credit hours) undergraduate study or graduate study at an accredited two- or four-year college, university, graduate school or a certificate from a vocational/technical school for the entire upcoming academic year
  • Applicants must have at least a 2.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale

Award Information

Authorized distribution for new awards is up to $165,000. Awards will be distributed as follows:

  • Up to one-hundred and fifty (150) $1,000 awards will be granted to applicants that fit the eligibility requirements (e.g. 6 months/100 hours of service, 2.5 GPA).
  • Three (3) $5,000 “grand prizes” will be granted to one employee per market (Central New York, Western New York, and Chicago/Erie) that fits the below criteria:
    • 2+ years of service at Delta Sonic as of the application deadline date.
    • 3.0 GPA or higher.
    • Enrolled full-time in any accredited program, including undergraduate, graduate, vocational, and trade school programs.
    • Must be in good standing with Delta Sonic.

Awards are not renewable; however, students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements. Awards are for undergraduate and graduate study. Recipients may receive the award a maximum of 4 times, but can only be named a Grand Prize Winner once. Recipients must continue to be employed by Delta Sonic Car Wash at the time awards are paid.

Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of:

  • Academic record
  • Demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities
  • Honors
  • Work experience
  • Statement of educational and career goals and objectives
  • Unusual personal or family circumstances

Financial need is not considered.

Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America. In no instance does any officer or employee of Delta Sonic Car Wash play a part in the selection. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.

Notification

Applicants will be notified in July. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients.

Payment of Scholarships

Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of Delta Sonic Car Wash. Awards will be paid in one installment in August.

As part of your application, you must upload the following document:

  • A current, complete transcript of grades. Grade reports are not accepted. Unofficial or online transcripts must display student name, school name, grades and credit hours for each course and term in which each course was taken

    NOTE: If you are providing SAT or ACT test scores, and those scores are not listed on your high school transcript, you will need to upload a copy of your test score report(s) separately. If you are uploading a college transcript, those scores are not required.

Your application is not complete unless all required documents are submitted electronically through the Scholarship America Student Hub.
