Diebold Nixdorf, Incorporated Scholarship Program

Diebold Nixdorf, Incorporated has established a scholarship program to assist children of employees who plan to continue their education in college or vocational school programs.

This program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarships and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor, and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team.

Applicants to the Diebold Nixdorf, Incorporated Scholarship Program must be:

  • Dependent* children, age 24 and under, of full-time employees of Diebold Nixdorf, Incorporated or any U.S.-based Diebold Nixdorf company who have a minimum of one year of employment as of the application deadline.*Dependent children are defined as natural or legally adopted children or stepchildren living in the employee’s household or primarily supported by the employee.
  • High school seniors or graduates, or current postsecondary undergraduates, who plan to enroll or are already enrolled in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited two-year or four-year college, university, or vocational-technical school for the entire upcoming academic year.

Children of Executive Leadership Team members are ineligible.

Awards

If selected as a recipient, the student can receive one of the following:

  • Diebold Ultimate Scholar Award: Three (3) renewable awards of $2,000 each will be granted to the top ranking applicants overall. Diebold Ultimate Scholar awards are renewable up to three years on the basis of satisfactory academic performance and continued parental employment.
  • Diebold Community Star Award: Three (3) awards of $1,750 each will be granted based only on non-academic factors (demonstrated leadership and community involvement). These awards are not renewable; however, students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements.
  • Diebold Scholar Award: Five (5) awards of $1,500 each will be granted based on academic and non-academic factors. These awards are not renewable; however, students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements.
  • Diebold Community Foundation Award: Up to thirty (30) awards of $1,500 each will be granted based on academic and non-academic factors. These awards are not renewable; however, students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements.

Recipients are not eligible to receive awards from any other Diebold sponsored scholarship program.

Awards are for undergraduate study only.

Selection of Recipients

Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of:

  • Academic performance
  • Demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities
  • Work experience
  • A statement of educational and career goals and objectives
  • Unusual personal or family circumstances
  • An online recommendation

Financial need is not considered.

Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America. In no instance does any officer or employee of Diebold Nixdorf, Incorporated play a part in the selection. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.

Notification

Applicants will be notified in July. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients. Students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements.

Payment of Scholarships

Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of Diebold Nixdorf, Incorporated. Payments are made directly to the school in one installment in mid-August.

Parents of Diebold Ultimate Scholar, Community Star, and Scholar Award recipients must be employed at the time of scholarship check disbursement.

As part of your application, you must upload the following:

  • A current, complete transcript of grades. Grade reports are not accepted. Transcripts must display student name, school name, grades and credit hours for each course, and term in which each course was taken.

    NOTE: If you are providing SAT or ACT test scores, and those scores are not listed on your high school transcript, you will need to upload a copy of your test score report(s) separately. If you are uploading a college transcript, those scores are not required.

One online recommendation form must be submitted on your behalf no later than May 27, 2024 3:00 pm Central Time.

Your application is not complete unless all required documents are submitted electronically through the Scholarship America Student Hub.
