Dodge Industrial Scholarship

Dodge Industrial Foundation, Inc. has established a scholarship program to assist children of employees who plan to continue their education in college or vocational school programs.

The program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarships and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor, and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team.

Applicants to the Dodge Industrial Scholarship must be:

  • Dependent* children, age 23 or younger as of the application deadline, of full-time Dodge Industrial, Inc. employees who have a minimum of six (6) months employment with the company as of the application deadline date and who are employed at time of recipient verification
    *Dependent child is defined as an employee’s unmarried natural, stepchild, legally adopted or a placed child with a benefit covered employee for anticipated adoption or child for whom the benefit covered employee is the permanent legal guardian
  • High school seniors or graduates, or current postsecondary undergraduates
  • Planning to enroll in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited two-year or four-year college, university or vocational-technical school for the entire next academic year

Awards

Awards will be granted and distributed as follows:

  • Rising freshmen (high school seniors), sophomores and all vocational-technical students – $3,000
  • Rising juniors – $4,000
  • Rising seniors or 5th year students – $5,000

Assuming there are qualified applicants from each pool, the number of awards will be distributed in proportion to the total percentage of applications received from the following:

  1. Vocational/Technical and two-year colleges
  2. Four-year colleges and universities

The program will be administered in full compliance with IRS Revenue Procedure 76-47. No more than 25% of eligible applicants may receive awards.

Awards are not renewable, but students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements.

Awards are for undergraduate study only. Awards must be used for qualified education related expenses (i.e., tuition, fees, books, and required supplies) only.

Notification

All applicants will be notified in April.

Payment of Scholarships

Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of Dodge Industrial Foundation, Inc. Payment is made in early August.

Selection of Recipients

Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of:

  • Academic record
  • Demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities
  • Work experience
  • A statement of educational and career goals and objectives
  • Unusual personal or family circumstances
  • An online recommendation.

Financial need is not considered.

Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America. In no instance does any officer or employee of Dodge Industrial Foundation, Inc. play a part in the selection. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.

As part of your application, you must upload the following:

  • A current, complete transcript of grades. Grade reports are not accepted. Transcripts must display student name, school name, grades and credit hours for each course and term in which each course was taken.

NOTE: If you are providing SAT or ACT test scores, and those scores are not listed on your high school transcript, you will need to upload an official copy of those test scores separately. If you are uploading a college transcript, those scores are not required.

One online recommendation form must be submitted on your behalf no later than February 3, 2024 3:00 pm Central Time.

Your application is not complete unless all required materials are submitted electronically.
