Opportunity's Front Door

Dominium Scholarship for Employees and Dependents
Application status: Closed

Providing safe and affordable housing is an essential part of building strong communities, but communities need more than just space to thrive. Dominium is committed to empowering those that we serve. We believe in creating opportunities for both our residents and employees to pursue their dreams and reach their full potential. And we know that education can often be the first step to opening new doors. To help break down financial barriers and provide easier access to certification programs and higher learning, Dominium has established a scholarship program to assist full-time employees and children of full-time employees who plan to continue their education in two-year or four-year college, vocational or certificate programs. We believe that community fosters talent, and when talent gets a chance to shine, the future looks brighter for everyone. Talent lives everywhere, opportunity lives here.

This program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarship, tuition assistance and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Awards are granted without regard to race, color, creed, religion, sexual orientation, age, gender, disability, or national origin.

Eligibility
Applicants to the Dominium Scholarship for Employees and Dependents must be:

  • High school seniors or graduates, current college undergraduates, or adults on a path to achieve a degree or vocational-technical certificate, who plan to enroll in part-time or full-time undergraduate study at an accredited two-year or four-year college, university, or vocational-technical school for the entire upcoming academic year.
  • A full-time Dominium employee who has a minimum of 1 year employment with the company as of the application deadline date, and remains in good standing as of recipient verification date.

OR

  • A custodial child of a full-time Dominium employee who has a minimum of 1 year employment with the company as of the application deadline date, and remains in good standing as of recipient verification date.

Award
If selected as a recipient, the student will receive a $5,000 award.  Awards are not renewable, but students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements.

Awards are for undergraduate study only. K-12 and graduate programs are not eligible.

Selection of Recipients
Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of academic record, demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities, honors, work experience, statement of goals and aspirations, and a short essay. Financial need will also be considered. Recipients must demonstrate need.

Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America. In no instance does any officer or employee of Dominium play a part in the selection. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.

Notification
Applicants will be notified in August. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients.

Payment of Scholarships
Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of Dominium. Payments are made in early August.

As part of your application, you must upload the following document:

Your application is not considered complete unless all required documents are submitted electronically.

*The application process begins when you click on the Apply Now button below and create a profile. While you may “pause” the application process (by quitting out of and returning to your profile) you may find it useful to have information regarding standardized test scores, work history, financial need and extracurricular activities easily accessible while completing the application. Having the information handy may eliminate the need for you to quit and return to your profile a number of times. You will likely want to “pause” your application process, however, in order to compose your responses to two short essay questions.
