Dugan & Lopatka Education Assistance Program

Dugan & Lopatka has established an education assistance program to assist employees’ children who plan to continue their education in college or vocational school programs. Education Assistance is offered each year for full-time study at an accredited institution of the student’s choice.

This education assistance program is administered by Scholarship America, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarship, tuition assistance and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations and individuals. Awards are granted without regard to race, color, creed, religion, sexual orientation, gender, disability or national origin.

Eligibility
Applicants to the Dugan & Lopatka Education Assistance Program must be:

    • Dependent children, age 24 and under, of part-time (1100 hours or greater) or full-time (2080 hours or greater) Dugan & Lopatka employees who have a minimum of two years of employment with the company as of the application deadline date.

*Dependent children are defined as biological, step- or legally adopted children living in the employee’s household or primarily supported by the employee.

  • High school graduates or current postsecondary undergraduates who plan to enroll or students who are already enrolled in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited two-year or fourĀ­-year college, university, or vocational-technical school for the entire 2021-22 academic year. Full-time status will be as determined by the educational institution.
  • Have a minimum grade point average of 2.0 on a 4.0 scale (or its equivalent).

Children of Principals are ineligible to apply.

Awards/Selection
Education assistance is available to all students who meet the eligibility requirements. Financial need is not considered. Awards will be based on the designated annual budget, the number of applicants to the program and the full or part time status of the employee. Awards of up to $2,000 will be offered to dependents of part-time employees. Awards of up to $4,000 will be offered to dependents of full-time employees.

Assistance will be limited to no more than two dependent children per employee per academic year.

Awards are not renewable; however, students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements up to a maximum of four awards.

December graduates are eligible to receive one-half of their award.

Awards are for undergraduate study only.

Notification
Applicants will be notified in early May.

Payment of Scholarships
Scholarship America processes education assistance payments on behalf of Dugan & Lopatka. Payments are made payable jointly to the recipient and employee and mailed to the recipient’s home address in early August and December. Awards are taxable to the parent employee of Dugan & Lopatka.

Recipient’s parents must be employed at Dugan & Lopatka at the time award payments are made.

As part of your application, you must upload a current, complete transcript of grades. Grade reports are not accepted. Transcripts must display student name, school name, grades and credit hours for each course, and term in which each course was taken.
