Educators Credit Union Scholarship Program
Application status: Closed

Educators Credit Union has established a scholarship for high school seniors who will be continuing their higher education.  This one-time scholarship will be paid directly to the accredited school.

This program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarship, tuition assistance and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Awards are granted without regard to race, color, creed, religion, sexual orientation, age, gender, disability, or national origin.

Applicants to the Educators Credit Union Scholarship Program must meet all of the following criteria:

  • Be an Educators Credit Union member for at least one (1) year as of the application deadline.
  • Be enrolled in a Dane, Green, Jefferson, Kenosha, Milwaukee, Ozaukee, Racine, Rock, Walworth, Washington, or Waukesha County high school.*
  • Be a current high school senior eligible for graduation at the end of the 2019-2020 school year.
  • Have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher at the end of first-semester senior year.
  • Plan to enroll in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited two-year or four-year college, university, or vocational-technical school for the entire upcoming academic year.
  • Tell how you live, or have demonstrated, one of Educators five core values in your life – honesty, integrity, fairness, respect and excellence.

*Students participating in a home-based educational program, privately operated correspondence or virtual school must reside in the qualifying counties listed above. Applicants attending these programs must also provide proof of enrollment with the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (form PI-1206) for the 2019-2020 school year, ACT or SAT scores, and any records relating to curriculum and academic progress.

Award Amounts

If selected as a recipient, the student will receive a $2,000 award.  Up to thirty-five (35) awards will be granted.

Awards are one-time and are for undergraduate study only.

Selection of Recipients

Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of academic performance, demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities, work experience, statement of demonstrated core values, unique personal or family circumstances, and an outside appraisal.

Financial need is not considered.

Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America. In no instance does any officer or employee of Educators Credit Union play a part in the selection. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.


All applicants will be notified in April.

Payment of Scholarships

Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of Educators Credit Union. Payment is made in August.

Recipients will be required to complete the following before awards are disbursed:

  • Submit a picture to be used in publicizing the award.
  • Send a thank you note to Educators Credit Union.
  • Complete nine modules of the online financial education program EverFi through the Educators Credit Union website. Modules completed as part of required schoolwork can be counted.
  • Attend scholarship dinner, if possible.

As part of your application, you must upload the following document(s):

  • A current, complete transcript of grades. Grade reports are not accepted. Unofficial or online transcripts must display student name, school name, grades and credit hours for each course, and term in which each course was taken.

Also, as part of your application, one online recommendation form must be submitted on your behalf.

Your application is not considered complete unless all required documents are submitted electronically.
