Emery Oleochemicals Scholarship Program

Emery Oleochemicals LLC has established a scholarship program to assist employees’ children who plan to continue their education in college or vocational school programs. Renewable scholarships are offered each year for full-time study at an accredited institution of the student’s choice.

The program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarships and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor, and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team.

Applicants to the Emery Oleochemicals Scholarship Program must meet all of the following criteria:

  • Be dependent* children of full-time employees of Emery Oleochemicals and affiliated companies in the United States and Canada who work a minimum of 30 hours per week and have a minimum of one year of employment with the company as of the application deadline date.
    *Dependent children are defined as biological children, stepchildren or legally adopted children living in the employee’s household or primarily supported by the employee.
  • Be high school seniors or in the final year of secondary school; be high school or secondary school graduates; or be current postsecondary undergraduates.
  • Be planning to enroll in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited two-year or four-year college, university, or vocational-technical school for the entire upcoming academic year.
  • Have a minimum grade point average of 2.50 on a 4.00 scale (or the equivalent).

Awards

Up to two (2) $2,500 awards will be granted. Awards will be issued in U.S. currency.

Awards may be renewed for up to three additional years or until a bachelor’s degree is earned, whichever occurs first. Renewal is contingent upon satisfactory academic performance, full-time enrollment and continuation of the program by Emery Oleochemicals.

Awards are for tuition and academic fees and may be used for undergraduate study only.

Notification

All applicants will be notified in March.

Payment of Scholarships

Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of Emery Oleochemicals. Payment is made in July.

Selection of Recipients

Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of:

  • Academic record
  • Demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities
  • Work experience
  • A statement of educational and career goals and objectives
  • Unusual personal or family circumstances
  • An online recommendation

Financial need is not considered. Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America. In no instance does any officer or employee of Emery Oleochemicals play a part in the selection. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final. Students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements.

As part of your application, you must upload the following:

  • A current, complete transcript of grades. Grade reports are not accepted. Transcripts must display student name, school name, grades and credit hours for each course and term in which each course was taken.

NOTE: If you are providing SAT or ACT test scores, and those scores are not listed on your high school transcript, you will need to upload a copy of your test score report(s) separately. If you are uploading a college transcript, those scores are not required.

One online recommendation form must be submitted on your behalf no later than January 22, 2024 3:00 pm Central Time.
