Entergy Corporation has established a scholarship program to assist employees’ dependents that plan to continue their education in college or vocational school programs. Scholarships are offered each year for full-time study at an accredited institution of the student’s choice.

This scholarship program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarship, tuition assistance and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations and individuals. Awards are granted without regard to race, color, creed, religion, sexual orientation, gender, disability, national origin or financial need.

Applicants to the Entergy Community Power Scholarship Program must:

  • Be dependent children of full-time Entergy employees who have a minimum of one year of full-time employment with the company as of December 1, 2021. Dependent children are defined as your unmarried children up to the age of 19, if:
    • they live with you; or
    • you claim them as dependents for federal income tax purposes; or
    • you have full or joint legal custody of them under a divorce or custody decree
  • Be high school seniors who plan to enroll in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited two- or four-year college, university, or vocational-technical school no later than fall 2022 for the entire upcoming academic or vocational year.
  • Have participated in volunteer community service during the past four (4) years:
Volunteer service that qualifies for the program is time spent working on programs/activities aligned with Entergy’s program areas (i.e., education and literacy, community improvement and enrichment, healthy families, arts and culture, and environmental improvement).
Volunteer service that does NOT qualify:

    • Hobbies
    • Donation of blood, hair, etc.

If selected as a recipient, the student will receive a $5,000 award. Up to twenty-two (22) system-wide awards will be granted. Up to ten (10) additional awards will be granted to students whose parent is employed by Entergy Louisiana. Up to two (2) additional awards will be granted to students whose parent is employed by Entergy Mississippi. Awards are one-time only and are not renewable.

Awards are for undergraduate study only.

Selection of Recipients

Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of academic record, demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities, work experience, home responsibilities, volunteer community service, a statement of goals and aspirations, unusual personal or family circumstances, and an outside appraisal. Financial need is not considered.

Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America. In no instance does any officer or employee of Entergy Corporation play a part in the selection. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.

All applicants will be notified in mid-December. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients.
