Equitable Foundation has established the Equitable Excellence℠ Scholarship Program to assist high school seniors who are planning to continue their education at a two- or four-year college in the United States by Fall 2022.
This program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarship, tuition assistance and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. In compliance with Federal law, this program will not discriminate in the terms, conditions or privileges of participation on the basis of race, color, religion, gender, national origin, age, disability or sexual orientation.
Applicants to the Equitable Excellence℠ Scholarship Program must:
Students who have made an outstanding achievement related to reducing risk in areas such as financial, environment, health and/or emergency preparedness or an achievement around empowering society to better face risk, are encouraged to apply.
Employees, associates, financial professionals, or immediate family members of employees, associates, or financial professionals of Equitable, Equitable Advisors and all Equitable affiliated companies or Scholarship America, or their affiliates, subsidiaries, or advertising and promotion agencies, are not eligible to apply to this program.
The authorized distribution for new awards is up to $750,000. Up to 100 renewable awards of $5,000 each and up to 100 one-time honorariums of $2,500 each will be granted as follows:
Awards are for undergraduate study only.
By identifying an educator that has been instrumental in your journey, Equitable Foundation will provide a Donor’s Choose award for classroom supplies and materials to each recipient’s choice of educator.
Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of academic performance, demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities, work experience, a statement of career and educational goals and objectives, essay, any unusual personal or family circumstances, and an online recommendation.
Financial need will be considered. Potential recipients who do not demonstrate need or who do not provide financial information may be eligible to receive a one-time honorarium.
Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America. In no instance does any officer or employee of Equitable Foundation play a part in the selection. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.
All applications received, up to a maximum of 10,000 or by the deadline date, whichever occurs first, will be considered.
Award recipients will be given access for a year to WhichWay, a financial literacy tool with interactive financial education modules containing tools and tips that include the following topics:
All applicants will be notified in late-February.
Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of Equitable Foundation. Payment is made in August.
