PNC Bank, N.A., Trustee has established the Louis Ernst Family Scholarship to assist high school seniors from Madison Consolidated High School and Shawe Memorial High School in Madison, Indiana who plan to continue their education in college or vocational school programs. Scholarships are offered each year for study at an accredited institution, with preference given to applicants planning to attend schools in Indiana. However, the Louis Ernst Family Scholarship Committee may approve others.
The scholarships shall be awarded to students with reasonable prospect of success in college and with financial need being the primary requirement.
The program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarships and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team.
Applicants to the Louis Ernst Family Scholarship must be:

Recommendation of recipients is made by Scholarship America with final confirmation by the Louis Ernst Family Scholarship committee.
Louis Ernst Family Scholarship committee will recommend the recipients and award amounts. Preference will be given to applicants planning to attend schools in Indiana; however, the committee may approve others. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.
Awards are not renewable.
The award can be used for tuition, fees, room, and board.
All applicants will be notified in May.
Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of PNC Bank, N.A., Trustee. Payment is made in August. Award checks will be processed in one installment sent directly to the college bursar’s office.

NOTE: If you are providing SAT or ACT test scores, and those scores are not listed on your high school transcript, you will need to upload an official copy of those test scores separately. If you are uploading a college transcript, those scores are not required.
Two online recommendation forms must be submitted on your behalf no later than March 6, 2025 3:00 pm Central Time.
