Ferrara USA Scholarship Program

Ferrara Candy Company has established a scholarship program to assist children of domestic employees who plan to continue their education in college or vocational school programs.

This program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarship, tuition assistance and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations and individuals. Awards are granted without regard to race, color, creed, religion, sexual orientation, gender, disability or national origin.

Applicants of the Ferrara USA Scholarship Program award must be:

  • Dependent* children, up to age 26, of full-time non-union Ferrara Candy Company domestic employees who have a minimum of six (6) months of employment as of the application deadline.
    *Dependent children are defined as children who qualify for benefits provided by the company.
  •  High school seniors or graduates, or current postsecondary undergraduates.
  • Accepted into full-time undergraduate study at an accredited two- or four-year college, university, or vocational-technical school for the entire 2020-2021 academic year.

Children of Vice Presidents and above are ineligible to apply.

Award information:

    • If selected as a recipient, the student will receive a $5,000 award.
    • Up to ten (10) awards will be granted. Awards are not renewable, however students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements.
    • Awards are for undergraduate and vocational-technical study only.

Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of:

  • Academic record
  • Demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities
  • Work experience
  • Statement of goals and aspirations
  • An online recommendation

Applicants will also be required to submit a short essay response to the following prompt: “At Ferrara Candy Company, we’ve been sharing delight in every bite since 1908. How do you share delight in your life?”

Financial need is not considered.

Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America. In no instance does any officer or employee of Ferrara Candy Company play a part in the selection. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.


Applicants will be notified in June. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients.

Payment of Scholarships

Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of Ferrara Candy Company. Payment is made in one installment in mid August.

As part of your application, you must upload the following documents:

  • A current, complete transcript of grades. Grade reports are not accepted. Unofficial or online transcripts must display student name, school name, grades and credit hours for each course and term in which each course was taken.

Also as part of your application, one online recommendation form must be submitted on your behalf.

Your application is not complete unless all required documents are submitted electronically.
