Ferrara USA Scholarship Program

Ferrara has established a scholarship program to assist children of domestic employees who plan to continue their education in college or vocational school programs.

The program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarship, and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor, and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team.

Applicants of the Ferrara USA Scholarship Program award must be:

  • Dependent* children, age 26 and under, of full-time Ferrara domestic U.S. employees who have a minimum of six (6) months employment with the company as of the application deadline.
    *Dependent children are children who qualify for benefits provided by the company.
  • High school seniors/students in their final year of upper or higher secondary school, graduates, current technical or college/university undergraduate students.
  • Plan to enroll in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited two- or four-year college, university, or vocational-technical school for the entire upcoming academic year.

Children of Vice Presidents and above are ineligible to apply.

Award information:

  • If selected as a recipient, the student will receive a $5,000 award.
  • Up to ten (10) awards will be granted. Awards are not renewable, however students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements.
  • Awards are for undergraduate and vocational-technical study only.

Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of:

  • Academic record
  • Demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities
  • Work experience
  • Statement of educational and career goals and objectives
  • An online recommendation

Applicants will also be required to submit a short essay response to the following prompt: “At Ferrara, we’ve been sharing delight in every bite since 1908. How do you share delight in your life?”

Financial need is not considered.

Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America. In no instance does any officer or employee of Ferrara play a part in the selection. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.

Notification

Applicants will be notified in late July. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients.

Payment of Scholarships

Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of Ferrara. Payment is made in one installment in September.

As part of your application, you must upload the following documents:

  • A current, complete transcript of grades. Grade reports are not accepted. Unofficial or online transcripts must display student name, school name, grades and credit hours for each course and term in which each course was taken.

    NOTE: If you are providing SAT or ACT test scores, and those scores are not listed on your high school transcript, you will need to upload a copy of your test score report(s) separately. If you are uploading a college transcript, those scores are not required.

One online recommendation form must be submitted on your behalf no later than May 29, 2024 3:00 pm Central Time.
