CHI Franciscan has established a scholarship program to assist employees’ children who plan to continue education in college or vocational school programs in healthcare-related majors relating to hospital and clinical settings. Scholarships are offered each year for full-time undergraduate study at an accredited institution of the student’s choice.
This scholarship program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarship, tuition assistance and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations and individuals. Awards are granted without regard to race, color, creed, religion, sexual orientation, gender, disability or national origin.
Awards will be granted to students majoring in selected healthcare related study leading to a career as a Pharmacist, Physician, Registered Nurse (RN), Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (Ultrasound Technologist), Nuclear Medicine Technologist, MRI Technologist, CT Technologist, Surgical Technologist, Radiology Technologist, Cardiovascular Technologist, Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist, Speech Language Pathologist, or Dietitian. Students pursuing religion majors are also eligible. Awards for recipients majoring in the above are:

Recipients who do not demonstrate financial need as calculated by Scholarship America or whose parents choose not to supply the requested financial information may receive a $750 honorarium.
Awards are limited to one award per family.
Awards are not renewable; however students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements.
*These majors will need to be approved by sponsor.
Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of academic record, demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities, honors, work experience, statement of goals and aspirations, unusual personal or family circumstances, and an online recommendation. If selected to be a scholarship recipient, financial need as calculated by Scholarship America, the employee parent’s FTE, and your major will determine the scholarship award amount.
Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America. In no instance does any officer or employee of CHI Franciscan play a part in the selection. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.
Applicants will be notified by late April. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients. Students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements.
Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of CHI Franciscan. Payments will be in early August.
Also as part of your application, one online recommendation must be submitted on your behalf by March 17, 2020 at 3:00 p.m. Central Time.
