The Tom Frost Scholarship Program
Live application window: February 20, 2025 through April 22, 2025 3:00 pm Central Time

Frost has established a scholarship program to assist children of employees who plan to continue their education in college. We offer renewable scholarships each year for full-time study at an accredited college or university of the student’s choice.

The program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarship and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team.

Applicants to The Tom Frost Scholarship Program must be:

  • Dependent* children, age 23 and under, of full-time Frost employees (up to and including senior vice president positions) who have a minimum of one year of employment as of the application deadline and are actively employed by Frost by the application deadline.
*Dependent children are defined as biological, step- or legally adopted children who qualify for medical benefits provided by the Company or a retired employee of Frost.
  • High school seniors or graduates, or current postsecondary undergraduates, who plan to enroll in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited two-year or four-year college or university for the entire upcoming academic year.

Awards

If selected as a recipient, the student will receive a $5,000 award. Awards are renewable up to three (3) years or until a bachelor’s degree is earned, whichever occurs first, on the basis of maintaining a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale, full-time undergraduate enrollment, and, unless the student’s parent/guardian has retired, the parent/guardian must continue their full-time employment with Frost.

Awards are for undergraduate study only.

Notification

All applicants will be notified in June.

Payment of Scholarships

Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of Frost. Payments are made in August.

Selection of Recipients

Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of:

  • Academic record
  • Demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities
  • Work experience
  • A statement of educational and career goals and objectives
  • Unusual personal or family circumstances

Financial need is not considered.

Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America. In no instance does any officer or employee of Frost play a part in the selection. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients. Students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.

As part of your application, you must upload the following:

  • A current, complete transcript of grades. Grade reports are not accepted. Transcripts must display:
    • Student name
    • School name
    • Grades
    • Credit hours for each course and term in which each course was taken.

NOTE: If you are providing SAT or ACT test scores, and those scores are not listed on your high school transcript, you will need to upload a copy of your test score report(s) separately. If you are uploading a college transcript, those scores are not required.

Your application is not complete unless all required materials are submitted electronically.
