H.B. Fuller Global Scholarship Program

H.B. Fuller has established a scholarship program to assist employees’ children who plan to continue their education at an accredited college, university or vocational-technical school.

The program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarships and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor, and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team.

Applicants to the Elmer & Eleanor Andersen Global Scholarship Award for Undergraduate Studies must be:

  • Dependent children* of full time H.B. Fuller employees domestically in the United States and internationally who have a minimum of 1 year of employment with the company as of the application deadline date. Dependent children of qualified employees who became disabled, retired or deceased within the last two years are also eligible.
    *Dependent children are defined as natural and legally adopted children or stepchildren of the employee, who qualify for benefits provided by the company and are living in the employee’s household or primarily supported by the employee.
  • Current high school seniors or high school graduates who plan to enroll or college undergraduates who are already enrolled in a full-time undergraduate course of study at an accredited two- or four-year college, university, or vocational-technical school.

Applicants to the Lee R. Mitau Legacy Scholarship Award for Graduate Studies must be:

  • Adult children*, age 30 or younger, of full-time H.B. Fuller employees domestically in the United States and internationally who have a minimum of one (1) year of employment with the company as of the application deadline date.
    *Adult Children are defined as natural and legally adopted children or stepchildren of the employee.
  • College graduates who plan to enroll or are already enrolled in their first full-time master’s or juris doctor program at an accredited college or university.
  • Applicants cannot be current full-time employees at H.B. Fuller Company.

Award information for the Elmer & Eleanor Andersen Global Scholarship

Provided that qualified applications are received, up to 57 awards will be granted under the following three categories:

Local Awards
Up to 52 Local awards of $1,000 USD each

Regional Awards
Four (4) awards of up to $2,500 USD each to the top candidate in each region

Global Awards
One (1) award of up to $6,000 USD to the top candidate globally

Recipients may receive only one award during the academic year. All applications submitted will be considered for the Local Award, with the top candidates receiving a Regional or Global Award.

For Regional and Global Awards, the award amount is based on actual expenses and cannot exceed eligible expenses for one academic year.

Awards are not renewable, but students may reapply to the program each year that they meet eligibility requirements. Recipients may receive an award from this scholarship a maximum of four times. Global or Regional Awards are one-time only. Students are not eligible to receive a Global and Regional award during their academic career. If a student receives a Global or Regional award and applies again, they are only eligible for the Local award.

Awards are for undergraduate study only.

Award information for the Lee R. Mitau Legacy Scholarship

Provided that qualified applications are received, up to two (2) awards of up to $10,000 USD each will be given to the top-ranking applicant from among all candidates: US and International.

Preference may be given to applicants with the following degrees –

  • Business Related Degree
  • Juris Doctor Degree
  • STEM Related Degree (Science, including Healthcare), Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics)
  • Finance Related Degree

Recipients may receive only one award during the academic year. The award amount is based on actual expenses and cannot exceed eligible expenses for one academic year.

Awards are not renewable, but students may reapply for the program each year they meet eligibility requirements. Recipients may receive an award from this scholarship a maximum of two times.

Awards are for graduate study only.

Additional Information

Awards are for qualified education-related expenses only. As listed, awards will cover tuition, fees, books, transportation (other than daily transportation), computers and housing if the student lives away from home. Awards amounts may be adjusted if the award exceeds the cost of qualified education-related expenses.

Award amounts are listed in U.S. dollars (USD) and award payments will be issued in USD. Recipients may choose to receive award payments in their local currency when available. Awards may not be used to cover the expenses of more than one academic year.

Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of:

  • Academic record
  • Demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities
  • Honors
  • Work experience and/or home responsibilities
  • Statement of educational and career goals and objectives
  • Unusual personal or family circumstances
  • An online recommendation

Financial need is not considered.

Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America. In no instance does any officer or employee of H.B. Fuller play a part in the selection. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.

Notification

Applicants will be notified of their award status by email in Late May. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients. Students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements.

Payment of Scholarships

Recipients of the Local awards in the United Sates and Canada will receive their payment made payable to their school, typically by mid-July. Recipients of the Regional or Global awards, or the Lee R. Mitau Legacy Scholarship, must submit documentation showing actual eligible expenses in order to receive the award payment. Awards are wired to all international scholarship recipients in August, provided required documentation has been received.

As part of your application, you must upload the following document:

  • A current, complete transcript of grades. Grade reports are not accepted. Transcripts must display:
    • Student name
    • School name
    • Grades
    • Credit hours for each course and term in which each course was taken.

NOTE: If you are providing SAT or ACT test scores, and those scores are not listed on your high school transcript, you will need to upload a copy of your test score report(s) separately. If you are uploading a college transcript, those scores are not required.

One online recommendation form must be submitted on your behalf no later than March 27, 2025 3:00 pm Central Time.

Your application is not complete unless all required documents are submitted electronically through the Scholarship America Student Hub.
