Gardner-Gibson Scholarship Program

This scholarship program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarship, tuition assistance and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations and individuals. Awards are granted regardless of a person’s race, color, creed, religion, sexual orientation, gender, disability or national origin.

Applicants to the Gardner-Gibson Scholarship Program must be:

  • Dependent* children of full-time Gardner-Gibson United States and Canada employees who have a minimum of one year of employment with the company as of the application deadline date.

            OR

  • Full-time Gardner-Gibson United States and Canada employees who have a minimum of one year of employment with the company as of the application deadline date.

           AND

  • High school senior or graduates or current post secondary undergraduate or graduate student. Students outside the United States must be in their final year of upper or higher secondary school or be current technical or university level students.
  • Plan to to enroll in full-time undergraduate or graduate study at an accredited two-year or four-year college, university or vocational-technical school for the entire 2021-2022 academic year. Current full-time employees are eligible to enroll part-time in undergraduate or graduate study at an accredited two-year or four-year college, university or vocational-technical school for part or entire academic year study.

Officers and children of officers are ineligible to apply.

*Dependent children are defined as biological, step- or legally adopted children living in the employee’s household or primarily supported by the employee.

 

The authorized distribution for new awards is $12,500. Up to five (5) awards of $2,500 each will be granted. An attempt will be made to distribute funds to as many families as possible.

The award checks will be issued in U.S. currency.

Awards are renewable up to three years or until a bachelor’s or master’s degree is earned, whichever occurs first, on the basis of satisfactory academic performance and continued employment by the parent or employee.

Awards are for undergraduate study and graduate study.

Notification
All applicants will be notified on March 19. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients.

Payment of Scholarships
Scholarship America processes Gardner-Gibson Scholarship Program payments on behalf of Gardner-Gibson. Payments are made in one installment in early August. Payment is made payable to the school.

Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of:

  • Consideration of academic performance
  • Demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities
  • Work experience
  • a statement of careers and educational goals and objectives
  • Unusual personal or family circumstances
  • an outside appraisal

Academic evaluation of international applicants will include a review of the grade/mark average based on the grading system used in the applicant’s country and a review of the results of academic examinations.

Financial need will be considered.
Recipients will be selected from a pool of qualified applicants with consideration given to those who demonstrate the greatest need.

Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America. In no instance does any officer or employee of Gardner-Gibson play a part in the selection. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.

Revisions
Gardner-Gibson Inc. reserves the right to review the conditions and procedures of this scholarship program and to make changes at any time, with or without notice including termination of the program.

 

As part of your application, you must upload the following:

  • A current, complete transcript of grades. Grade reports are not accepted. Transcripts must display the student name, school name, grades and credit hours for each course, as well as the term in which each course was taken.

One online recommendation form must be submitted on your behalf no later than February 10, 2021 3:00 pm.

Your application is not complete unless all required documents are submitted electronically.
