The program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarships and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team.

Applicants of the Georgia Power Scholarship Program award must be:

  • Family members* of Georgia Power permanent, full-time employees and retirees. (Co-ops are not considered full-time employees. Sister organizations are not eligible.)
*Family members are defined as the employee’s spouse or dependent (custodial) sons and daughters, or dependent grandchildren claimed on the employee’s tax return.
  • High school seniors or graduates who plan to enroll or students currently enrolled in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited two- year or four- year college, university, or vocational-technical school for the entire upcoming academic year.
