Glancy Wine Education Fund

San Francisco Wine School believes that every motivated and engaged student should have access to high quality, professional education in their trade.

The Glancy Wine Education Fund has been established to assist students enrolled in an eligible course of study provided at San Francisco Wine School, (including certifications conferred by San Francisco Wine School, Society of Wine Educators, Wine Scholar Guild, or WSET by Grape Experience.) Eligible courses of study are listed on the application or can be verified by the providing institution.

This program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarship, tuition assistance and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Awards are granted without regard to race, color, creed, religion, sexual orientation, age, gender, disability, or national origin.

Applicants to the Glancy Wine Education Fund must:

  • Plan to enroll in an eligible course of study provided at San Francisco Wine School (including certifications conferred by San Francisco Wine School, Society of Wine Educators, Wine Scholar Guild, or WSET by Grape Experience) between January 1, 2020 and December 31, 2020.
  • Be 21 years or older on the day the coursework begins.

*You will be asked to provide information on the Scholarship America Student Hub for current postsecondary students that may not be applicable to your current situation and the Glancy Wine Education Fund.  Answer these questions as they pertain to your final year in high school or postsecondary education. Much of the information in this section is not considered when evaluating your application for a Glancy Wine Education award.

Awards

The authorized amount available for distribution will be based upon the amount available in the Fund. Awards of up to $5,000 may be granted, based upon financial need (applicant’s AGI) and total cost of coursework.

Awards are not renewable, however, students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements.

Awards must be used in calendar year 2020.

Notification

All applicants will be notified in late December.

Payment of Scholarships

Scholarship America sends award payments directly to San Francisco Wine School in the name of each recipient. Payments will not be issued until a signed Scholarship Acceptance Form is received. Cancellations and refunds will be processed in accordance with San Francisco Wine School’s published policies.

Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of:

  • Consideration of academic performance
  • Work experience
  • Statement of career and educational goals and objectives

Financial need will be considered.

Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America. In no instance does any officer or employee of San Francisco Wine School play a part in the selection. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.

Revisions
San Francisco Wine School reserves the right to review the conditions and procedures of this scholarship program and to make changes at any time including termination of the program.

As part of your application, you must upload the following:

  • A current, complete transcript of grades. Grade reports are not accepted. Transcripts must display the student name, school name, grades and credit hours for each course, as well as the term in which each course was taken.

Your application is not complete unless all required documents are submitted electronically.
