Scholarship Program

GoodRx, Inc. has established a scholarship program to assist students pursuing a Doctor of Pharmacy at an ACPE-accredited college of pharmacy, and Pharmacy Technicians who are studying for certification or have recently been certified.

The program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarship, tuition assistance, and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor, and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team. Awards for this scholarship are granted to eligible recipients without regard to creed, religion, sexual orientation, age, disability, or national origin.

The GoodRx Pharmacy Innovation Scholarship Program

Eligibility Requirements for Pharmacy Technician applicants:

  • The applicant must be currently enrolled in a pharmacy technician program or have received a pharmacy technician certification (CPhT) through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or the National Healthcareer Association (NHA) within 6 months of the scholarship application deadline.
  • High school seniors and graduates who have not yet completed one full semester of college are eligible to apply for a Pharmacy Technician award.
  • Applicants attending Pharmacy Technician training schools are eligible to apply.

Pharmacy Technician applicants will be asked on the online application form to supply information about the postsecondary school or program they will be attending in the upcoming academic year. Applicants who have either completed their related studies or do not plan on attending college in the upcoming academic year should enter the most recent postsecondary school attended. Eligibility Requirements for PharmD applicants:

  • The applicant must be a Doctor of Pharmacy candidate in at least their first year of professional studies at an ACPE-accredited college of pharmacy.
  • Must have a minimum grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.

Employees and children of employees of GoodRx are ineligible to apply.

The authorized distribution for new awards is up to $10,000. Up to 10 awards of $1,000 each will be granted. Provided there are qualified applicants, awards will be allocated as follows:

  • Up to 5 awards to those who are pursuing a Doctor of Pharmacy at an ACPE-accredited college of pharmacy and/or
  • Up to 5 awards to those currently enrolled in a pharmacy technician program or have received a pharmacy technician certification (CPhT) through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or the National Healthcareer Association (NHA) within 6 months of the scholarship application deadline

In the event there are not enough qualified applicants in one of the groups, awards may be allocated to the other group in order to achieve full distribution.

Awards are one time only. Past recipients may not reapply.

Awards are granted without regard to race, color, creed, religion, age, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or national origin.

Notification

Selected applicants will be notified in June.

Payment of Scholarships

Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of The GoodRx Pharmacy Innovation Scholarship Program. Payments are made in August.

Scholarship finalists will be selected by Scholarship America on the basis of:

  • academic performance
  • demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities
  • work experience
  • statement of career, educational goals and objectives

Financial need will not be considered.

GoodRx, Inc. will select recipients from the pool of finalists based on the student’s response to an essay prompt.

A video essay upload will also be required for designated finalists to be evaluated by GoodRx, Inc.

Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.

GoodRx, Inc. reserves the right to review the conditions and procedures of this scholarship program and to make changes at any time, with or without notice, including termination of the program.

As part of your application, you must upload the following:

  • A current, complete transcript of grades. Unofficial transcripts are acceptable. Transcripts must display the student name, school name, grades and credit hours for each course, as well as the term in which each course was taken.

Your application is not complete unless all required documents are submitted electronically.
