Grant Munro Scholarship Program

The Grant Munro Scholarship assists students who have graduated from high schools in Fairfield County, OH and who are attending accredited undergraduate or graduate schools in medical or ministry fields.

This program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarships and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor, and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team.

Applicants to the Grant Munro Scholarship must be:

  • High school seniors or graduates from high schools in Fairfield County, OH.
  • Enrolled or planning to enroll in full-time study at an accredited undergraduate or graduate school for the entire upcoming academic year.
  • Be majoring in medical or ministry fields.
    • Students in the medical field must have a minimum cumulative 3.0 grade point average and be pursuing authorized medical titles.
    • Students in the ministry field must have a minimum cumulative 3.0 grade point average and provide letter from sponsoring judicatory or local church-governing pastor.

 

 

Awards

Financial need of the student will be considered in determining the amount of each award. Scholarships shall be limited in amount to the cost of tuition, books and fees.

Awards are not renewable, but students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements.  Recipients may receive the award for up to a total of 4 years. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients.

Selection of Recipients

Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of:

  • Academic record
  • Demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities
  • Work experience
  • A statement of educational and career goals and objectives.

Also considered will be the applicant’s financial need and unusual personal or family circumstances. Financial need, as calculated by Scholarship America, must be demonstrated for the student to receive an award.

Recommendation of recipients is made by Scholarship America with final confirmation by PNC Bank, N.A. as Trustee of the Grant Munro Scholarship Trust. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.

Notification

All applicants will be notified in May.

Payment of Scholarships

Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of PNC Institutional Investments. Payment is made in August.

As part of your application, you must upload the following:

  • A current, complete transcript of grades. Grade reports are not accepted. Transcripts must display student name, school name, grades and credit hours for each course and term in which each course was taken.

    NOTE: If you are providing SAT or ACT test scores, and those scores are not listed on your high school transcript, you will need to upload a copy of your test score report(s) separately. If you are uploading a college transcript, those scores are not required.
  • Students in the ministry field must provide letter from sponsoring judicatory or local church-governing pastor.
