Gray Scholarship Fund
Application status: Closed

PNC Bank, N.A. as Trustee of the Gray Scholarship Fund has established a scholarship program to assist students in Massachusetts who plan to continue their education in college or vocational school programs.

This program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarship and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor, and eligible application are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team.

Applicants to the Gray Scholarship Fund must:

  • Be high school seniors or graduates, or current postsecondary undergraduates from a high school in Massachusetts who plan to enroll in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited two-year or four-year college, university, or vocational-technical school for the entire upcoming academic year. Applicants from high schools in Middlesex County, Massachusetts are encouraged to apply.
  • Have a minimum grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale (or its equivalent).

Children of PNC Bank, N.A. employees are ineligible.

Award information:

The authorized distribution for new awards varies based on the annual Trust RMD. Up to fifteen (15) awards will be granted at varied amount levels determined by the sponsor. Awards are not renewable, but students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements.

Awards are for undergraduate study only.

Notification

Applicants will be notified in August. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients.

Payment of Scholarships

Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of the Gray Scholarship Fund. Payment is made in one installment in late August.

Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of:

  • Academic record
  • Demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities
  • Honors
  • Work experience
  • Statement of educational and career goals and objectives
  • Unusual personal or family circumstances
  • An online recommendation

Financial need as calculated by Scholarship America must be demonstrated for the student to receive an award.

Selection of recipients is made by a Sponsor selection committee. All applicants agree to accept the decisions as final.

Deadline

Your application must be submitted on or before March 18, 2024 3:00 pm Central Time.

As part of your application, you must upload the following document:

  • Current, complete transcript of grades. Grade reports are not accepted. Unofficial or online transcripts must display student name, school name, grades and credit hours for each course, and term in which each course was taken.

    NOTE: If you are providing SAT or ACT test scores, and those scores are not listed on your high school transcript, you will need to upload a copy of your test score report(s) separately. If you are uploading a college transcript, those scores are not required.

One online recommendation form must be submitted on your behalf no later than March 20, 2024 3:00 pm Central Time.
