Established in 1993, Hannaford Charitable Foundation provides financial support to charitable programs and organizations that enhance the quality of life in the communities in which Hannaford does business. The Hannaford Scholarship Program is funded through the Foundation by a generous gift from Florence Taylor Petrlik, a Hannaford Director from 1971 to 1993, and annual company contributions.
Hannaford has established a scholarship program to assist associates of Hannaford or one of the related companies that contribute to Hannaford’s success and their dependent children who plan to pursue a postsecondary education in college and vocational programs. Each year scholarships are offered for full-time study at any accredited postsecondary institution of the student’s choice.
This scholarship program is administered by Scholarship America, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarships and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor, and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team.
