The Henry Schein, Inc. Worldwide Scholarship Program

The Henry Schein, Inc. Worldwide Scholarship Program is designed to assist in making higher education more accessible to the children of our Team Schein Members. This program will provide scholarship opportunities annually to the children of Team Schein Members.

The program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarship and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor, and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team.

Applicants to The Henry Schein, Inc. Worldwide Scholarship Program must be:

  • Applicants must be children*, age 23 and under, of part-time or full-time Henry Schein, Inc. worldwide Team Schein Members
    *Children are defined as natural, legally adopted, or stepchildren primarily supported by the Team Schein Member.
  • A high school senior or graduate who plans to enroll, or who is already enrolled in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited two-year or four-year college, university, or vocational-technical school for the entire upcoming academic year.
  • Team Schein Member’s total compensation cannot exceed $200,000 USD.
  • Awards are not renewable, but students may reapply to the program each year provided they meet the eligibility requirements.
  • Same eligibility requirements apply regardless of how many recipients apply per family.

Award Information:

  • Up to 75 scholarships of $2,500 (U.S. dollars) will be granted each year.
  • Awards are not renewable, but students may reapply to the program each year provided they meet the eligibility requirements.
  • Awards are for undergraduate study only.

Notification

Applicants will be notified in late June. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients. Students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements.

Payment of Scholarships

Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of Henry Schein, Inc. Payment is made in one installment in early August. International recipients receive a wire transfer of funds from SAI once all required materials have been received. The award may be used to pay for tuition, required fees, books, supplies, room and board, and other education related expenses.

The Team Schein parent must be actively employed at the time of the scholarship payment. If the Team Schein parent is not employed at the time of the scholarship payment, an alternate scholarship recipient will be selected.

Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of:

  • Academic record
  • Demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities
  • Honors
  • Statement of educational and career goals and objectives
  • Unusual personal or family circumstances

Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America. Henry Schein, Inc. will not be involved in the selection decision except to verify eligibility. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.

As part of your application, you must upload the following document:

  • A current, complete transcript of grades. Grade reports are not accepted. Unofficial transcripts must contain your name, school name, grades and credit hours earned and term in which the course was taken. Clear photocopies of the following educational documents must be submitted with the application.
    • Students currently or previously enrolled in an institution of higher education (university) must include the following documents: Academic record (transcript of grades) of all higher education course work completed through the most recent grading/marking period.
    • Current secondary school students and students who have completed less than one year of higher education (university) must include the following documents: Academic record (transcript of grades) for all secondary education course work completed during the past three years; and copies of end-of-year exam results, if applicable.

Due to differences in educational systems, applicants from non-English speaking countries must provide the following materials:

  • English translations for all non-English documents.
