HNI Corporation Scholarship Program
Application status: Closed

HNI Corporation has established a scholarship program to assist children of members who plan to continue their education in college or vocational school programs.

This program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarship, tuition assistance and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor, and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team. Awards are granted without regard to race, color, creed, religion, sexual orientation, gender, disability, or national origin.

Applicants to the HNI Corporation Scholarship Program must be:

  • Dependent* children, age 24 and under, of full-time or permanent part-time members of HNI Corporation and its operating companies who have a minimum of one year of employment with the company as of the application deadline date and who average 20 hours/week or more.
  • High school seniors or graduates, or current postsecondary undergraduates, who plan to enroll in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited vocational-technical school, two-year or four-year college or university, for the entire upcoming academic year.

*Dependent children are defined as natural and legally adopted children or stepchildren living in the member’s household or primarily supported by the member.

Awards

Awards will range from $500-$2,500. Financial need will be considered in determining the amount of the award. Awards are renewable up to three years or until a bachelor’s degree or certificate is obtained, whichever occurs first, on the basis of satisfactory academic performance.

Awards are for undergraduate study only.

Notification

All applicants will be notified in early May. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients. Non-recipients will be notified, as well.

Payment of Scholarships

Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of HNI Corporation. Payments are made in early August.

Selection of Recipients

Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of consideration of academic performance, demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities, work experience, statement of educational and career goals and objectives, unusual personal or family circumstances and an outside recommendation.

Financial need, as calculated by Scholarship America, will be considered. Recipients must demonstrate financial need. Once scholarship recipients are selected, financial data is reviewed to determine the amount of each award, ranging from $500 to $2,500.

Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America. In no instance does any officer or employee of HNI Corporation play a part in the selection. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.

As part of your application, you must upload the following:

  • A current, complete transcript of grades. Grade reports are not accepted. Transcripts must display the student name, school name, grades and credit hours for each course, as well as the term in which each course was taken.

NOTE: If you are providing SAT or ACT test scores, and those scores are not listed on your high school transcript, you will need to upload an official copy of those test scores separately. If you are uploading a college transcript, those scores are not required.

One online recommendation form must be submitted on your behalf no later than March 8, 2022 3:00 pm 3:00 p.m. CT.

Your application is not complete unless all required documents are submitted electronically.
