Homepoint Foundation Inc. has established a scholarship program to assist children of domestic employees of Home Point Financial Corporation or its affiliates, who plan to continue their education in college or vocational school programs.
The program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarship, tuition assistance, and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor, and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team. Awards for this scholarship are granted to eligible recipients without regard to creed, religion, sexual orientation, disability, or national origin.
Applicants to the Homepoint Legacy Scholarship Program must:
Dependents of executives and senior officers* of Homepoint and members of the Foundation Board are ineligible.
*The definition of ‘executive or senior officer’ is Executive Managing Director and Senior Managing Director at Hompoint or our affliates.
If selected as a recipient, the student will receive a $6,000 award. Up to 10 awards will be granted.
Awards are one-time only. Past recipients may not reapply.
Awards are for undergraduate study only.
All applicants will be notified in April.
Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of Homepoint Foundation Inc. Payment is made in early August.
Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of academic record, demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities, work experience, a statement of educational and career goals and objectives, unusual personal or family circumstances, and an online recommendation.
Financial need, as calculated by Scholarship America, will be considered and must be demonstrated for the student to receive an award.
Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America. In no instance does any officer or employee of Homepoint Foundation Inc. play a part in the selection. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.
Award recipients will be given access for a year to WhichWay, a financial literacy tool with interactive financial education modules containing tools and tips that include the following topics:
Participation in Scholarship America’s financial literacy tool, WhichWay is offered to scholarship recipients. Recipients will be invited to register online to participate in financial education activities to help guide a student to financial stability and success.
