Integra Technologies has established a scholarship program to assist employees, and children and grandchildren of employees, who plan to continue their education in college or vocational school programs.
The program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarships and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor, and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team.
Jon began his career as a student intern at Integra Technologies in Wichita, KS while he was working on his degree in Electrical Engineering. Upon graduation, Jon transitioned to a full time Semiconductor Test Engineer at Integra. Jon quickly became known as an extremely gifted Engineer who could always be counted on to solve difficult problems and consistently made himself available to support any of his coworkers regardless of what department they worked in. Jon routinely was seen at Integra supporting the production crew at night or on the weekend and through that process became a true friend to many at Integra. Jon’s dedication and hard work earned him many promotions throughout his nearly twenty-year career at Integra. As Jon worked his way through the management ranks, he never forgot how he got his start. He became the focal point and was responsible for a great deal of the growth of the partnership between WSU and Integra. Jon was always keenly interested in promoting the internship program at Integra, and consistently looked for opportunities to expand the program and allow more students to apply learned skills in a hands-on, real-life environment. Jon was dedicated to the continued growth and education for all the students and engineers as their careers developed. Jon continued his pursuits with the internship program throughout his career. Even after promotion to Vice President, Jon could be found “manning” the table at job fairs at all three state universities in KS. Jon’s technical abilities and leadership qualities allowed him to make significant, on-going contributions to Integra Technologies and the student intern program!
Jon enjoyed an active life, participating in activities with his wife and two children. He and his family were members of the Faith Mennonite Church. Jon was a participant in and supporter of the Head For The Cure 5K Walk/Run. Jon’s humor, good-natured spirit, willingness to listen, and positive approach to the world made him a valued friend, co-worker and family member.
The program Jon helped to develop continues to expand and has afforded hundreds of students an opportunity to apply what they are learning in a real-world environment. For those that knew Jon, we continue to miss him daily, and are honored to support the Jonathan Hochstetler Memorial Scholarship!
