Children of Jabil Employees Scholarship Program

The Jabil Cares Foundation, Inc., has established a scholarship program to assist children of Jabil Inc. who plan to continue their education in college or vocational school programs.

The program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarships and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team.

Applicants to the Children of Jabil Employees Scholarship Program be must:

  • Be dependent* children, age 26 and under**, of full-time United States (U.S.) Jabil employees in the following job classifications – Direct Labor (DL), Indirect Labor (IL) & Sales General Administration (SGA) who have a minimum of 1 year employment with the company.
    *Dependent children are defined as natural and legally adopted children or stepchildren living in the employee’s household or primarily supported by the employee.
    **No age limit for disabled children.
  • Be high school seniors, high school graduates or current college undergraduates.
  • Plan to enroll in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited two- or four-year college, university, or vocational-technical school for the entire upcoming academic year***
    ***Certification programs must be through an accredited institution and must run on a standard academic semester calendar. Certification programs must be a minimum of one semester/term in length and recipients must be enrolled at the time awards are disbursed in August.
  • Have a minimum grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale (or its equivalent).

Children of Senior Director (MO7) and above are ineligible.

Children of Contract employees are ineligible.

Awards

If selected as a recipient, the student will receive a $5,000 award annually for those attending four-year colleges and universities or a $3,000 award anually for those attending two-year colleges or pursuing a technical/trade certification.

Awards are renewable as follows on the basis of maintaining a 2.5 minimum GPA (or its equivalent) and full-time enrollment.

  • Up to three (3) additional years or until a bachelor’s degree is earned, whichever occurs first, for scholarship recipients pursuing a bachelor’s degree
  • Up to one (1) additional year for scholarship recipients pursuing an associate’s degree or vocational-technical degree or certification
  • Applicants who have received a scholarship from this Program prior to the start of this current Program cycle shall not be required to meet eligibility requirements concerning parent/guardian continued employment with the Sponsor.

NOTE: Recipients who immediately begin pursuing a bachelor’s degree upon completion of an associate’s degree will be eligible to renew up to three (3) years, for four (4) years of scholarship in total or until a bachelor’s degree is earned, whichever occurs first.

Awards are not for graduate-level study.

Awards are for qualified education-related expenses only (tuition, fees, books, and required supplies/equipment) and not for room or board. Awards amounts may be adjusted if award exceeds the cost of qualified education-related expenses.

Notification

All applicants will be notified in July.

Payment of Scholarships

Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of the Jabil Cares Foundation, Inc. Payment is made in August.

Selection of Recipients

Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of:

  • Financial need
  • Academic record
  • Demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community service activities
  • Work experience
  • A 1,000 character essay with this topic: “What is an important issue that you care about? Describe how you have gotten involved in making a difference.”
  • Unusual personal or family circumstances

Financial need, as calculated by Scholarship America, must be demonstrated for the student to receive an award.

Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America. In no instance does any officer of the Jabil Cares Foundation, Inc., or Jabil, Inc., play a part in the selection.

Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients.

Students not selected as recipients this year may reapply each year they meet eligibility guidelines. Students selected as recipients will be provided instructions to renew the award in January.

Students must provide documentation of full-time status and GPA in order to receive a renewable award.

All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.

As part of your application, you must upload the following:

  • A current, complete transcript of grades. Grade reports are not accepted. Transcripts must display student name, school name, grades and credit hours for each course and term in which each course was taken.
  • NOTE: If you are providing SAT or ACT test scores, and those scores are not listed on your high school transcript, you will need to upload a copy of your test score report(s) separately. If you are uploading a college transcript, those scores are not required.

  • You will be required to provide information regarding your family’s financial situation; a copy of the most recently filed 1040 federal tax form may be helpful in completing the application.
